When I first came on this forum I posted a piece I did in the "Article Critique" section entitled "Food Fight". It is one of my favorite pieces. Well, maybe because I can relate to being on both sides of the fence . . . been there on both sides. Also, after I wrote it I went to bed to get some sleep and then saw dark clouds part and the sun coming through. I also knew that the dark clouds didn't part on there own, but were forced to part because the sun was coming through.
Anyway, thought I would share it again in the "Article Critique" section. This thread kinda reminded me of it somewhat. Do know I am not saying it fits in perfectly regarding finer details. For instance, there may be a time or need to personally reject someone. God knows and can reveal to each of us. Just, for me I felt it can reveal what can happen to us on an underlying level when we don't particular care for another's dish (for the giver and the intended receiver).
To this day it is still difficult for me when I have poured out my heart writing and another / others don't seem to care for my dish, but as long as I know where my heart is at, and am being true to what the Lord shares with me, then it needs to be well with my soul, and I take the hurt I may feel to the Lord for healing. I also try to keep in mind that although we are all on the same progressive journey into the full stature of Christ, in our personal journey we are at different places and
someone may not care for our dish and that can be ok (God can reveal to each).
God has helped me in this area by showing me things like a door or window opening or being left open for me. That's his way of letting me know another / others are open to what I have to say. If that door or window is closed, trying to force it open will probably result in something like attacks, rejection, or at the least, me being hurt.
Doesn't mean we can't share, or shouldn't share (again, God can reveal to each), but Jesus showed us a great example by knocking on the door of our hearts. If someone hears us and invites us in, then we can share a meal together. If not, then we can move on, or pray and try again sometime.
And if we are right or wrong, God knows and can reveal to each. We just need to keep a watch on our hearts on both sides of the fence because the heart / spirit behind the words has the loudspeaker no matter how right our facts are.
Anyway, hope it helps . . .
Ultimately, we all need to be true to the Lord and what He gives us, and let the chips fall where they may.
And, maybe it be the narcissist in me, but feel free to comment on the article if you feel so led (didn't get any comments when I first posted it). I really like it, but if no one else does it will have to be well with my soul for I feel the Lord has already shown me He approves of it.
Thanks and love you all.
