Had a wonderful
time in Portland. All the speakers and workshops were informative and inspiring. Timmy Boyle and David Ian are hilarious. Rick (Hoomi) gave a great talk about writing out of the box. Amy (Sparrow) is taller than I expected.
Deb and Cori's sessions were informative (and both have totally cool accents).
Everyone needs to hear from Sally Stuart. She's a walking writing encyclopedia.
The food at the hotel was great. Having Pup's fudge was a special treat.
It was great finally putting faces to names and voices to faces. Got to hang out with Leah and Mryna (Gentle1) on Friday. Wish it wasn't so hot, though. Spent Sunday and part of Monday sightseeing. Went to Powell's Books and wanted to move there. Had dinner Monday with Allison (who had just removed her BoB crown).
One of the front desk clerks had to shuttle me to the airport (the other shuttle had to take a flight crew). On the ride over, he said he was impressed with the FW group and how nice everyone was. He said it was great having such a friendly group stay at the hotel and he said we were welcome back anytime.
Thank you to everyone who organized the conference and to Mike and Bea for keeping FW moving forward.
