Glad you have your vacation booked. Are you going to ride your trike to Portland? Because if you are and will let me take a spin on it, I might be able to overcome my panic attacks and go to the conference? The fudge is almost tempting enough, but add a trike ride and that might be better than Ativan, nah probably not but it's fun to fantasize.

I still say you should ride it across the country stopping at FW houses to rest your weary legs. I'd even find the doghouses for you to stay in and do a marketing campaign! :D

Well, I forgot to ask them to apply PTO to my standby shift on Saturday night and so after I got paid today I calculated the bills and we have a grand total of $4 to last us two weeks until I get paid again. :( So of course we needed groceries and they went on the credit card tonight. We need more stuff too like gas and fresh food over the next few weeks, but at least we have stuff to eat for the moment. It was particularly brutal this paycheck because Ryan signed up for two online classes this summer and the payment comes out on June 1st and that's when rent is due and of course we're paying more for rent because it's a nicer place. AND the paycheck was shorted by a lot due to the loss of that shift (12 hours). :? At least we'll be back ahead when I get paid again. Thankfully the conference is mostly paid for already.

I'm frustrated, but the reality is we're really blessed. We still have food, transportation, shelter, and very important things like internet access. There's a zillion other things to watch on Netflix when we finish season six of Doctor Who, which will probably happen in the next week. I have all kinds of recipes I've posted to Pinterest which I haven't had a chance to try, and with the need to use the stuff in our cupboards rather than running out to get takeout, I have the opportunity to try them. We still have 24/7 access to the gym, a Wii with all kinds of games, and sunny weather with beaches and parks to check out anytime. Just because we have to scale back a little these next two weeks doesn't mean we're going to suffer by any means.

I played tonight at the Friday night deal we sometimes go to. It was an acoustic set with just Pastor Dave on guitar/singing and me. Super fun to improvise and play with a good musician.

I thought about going down to the beach and playing for money, too. I made $35 in an hour in Seattle, in the rain, in a deserted area, before my wedding with a sign begging for change to pay for guest food. Just think of what I could score on a sunny beach in LA!

Glad you had a good 30th, Allison.

Hey Pup, are you going to try to make dairy-free fudge for me? Coconut milk should do it, I would think. I like the plain stuff, nice and chocolatey, no nuts or other contaminants. I promise I'll share...I'm still on a diet - sometimes.

Okay, time for Pinteresting ideas for the food in my cupboard, which involves a lot of beans, and tomatoes, and pumpkin. Maybe not all in the same dish.

Dairy free? Coconut Milk? That's almost as bad as the goat milk someone wanted me to try before. I don't know if it would work or not with the recipe. I guess I could try it... just for you.. but as coconut milk is thinner than cream it may turn out more like chocolate syrup than fudge, but I will look into it.

As for riding the trike to Portland, I don't think so, as it would take me a week to get there, and my vacation doesn't start until that weekend. If I could find someone with a truck to take me up there, that might be workable, and I could ride back. As for riding across country visiting as many FW folks as I could... maybe when I retire. Or when that rich relative I never knew about dies and leaves me a fortune.

Pup, you can always try coconut cream. Its apparently the same as coconut milk but thicker.

They do have a non-dairy cream, but it is mainly for coffee. I have used the flavored creamers that way and they work okay, somewhat, sort of. I will check and see what I can find.

Sign in to the main account, look for "Account management", then look on there for the password thingy. It will ask you for the present password so hopefully you saved it. Type that in then the new password.. twice. then save.

Ok Miss Leah.. the health food place here does carry the coconut cream, so I will try making a batch just for you. If it doesn't turn out right... it is NOT my fault.

Oh stop that! I love you and I think if we were to take a poll, you would rank right up there in the top ten most loved FW! I really do love you and I know that so many others do too. From the very beginning, both you and Tim became my two favorite guys on FW and that says a lot because I don't have a big trust in guys. Now that I have met Jay, there are 3 guys whom I've never seen but have a definite connection with and would likely trust you all.

But make me fudge too and I'll love you even more! :tongue
