Where did y'all hide Edy's birthday cake? I can't find the ice cream either.

A nice piece of that cake would sure hit the spot about now.

Bring it out quick! Maybe I'll have two pieces and call it dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDY!!!

Oh, My! All this partying has me totally exhausted, and it isn't even sunset, yet. Guess that's what happens with the advancing years.

Thanks for the nice party, everyone. You've blessed me beyond measure

Hope Edy hasn't gone to bed yet. I haven't given her my Birthday wishes yet.

Happy Birthday, Edy. :birthday :birthday :birthday
I don't know what they did with the cake, maybe Ole Blue got it. :rockon :rockon

I don't think I can clean under bathroom sinks or clean the refrigerator yet, but I did do some housework today -- I folded a few loads of laundry. I also ventured out enough to take the dogs to the mailbox.

Thanks, Joanney - I'm still awake. I had to watch "Call the Midwife" on PBS. It reminds me a lot of my early nursing career, both as a student nurse and in labor and delivery. It's based on an actual midwife's true story, set in England in the 1950s, I believe. We got in on the tail end of similar blue and white student uniforms when I was in training, which phased out shortly after. I'm so glad I didn't come along any later than I did, or I would have missed the historic charm of it all. 8)

One of these days I'll have to dig out some old photo albums for my brother to transcribe for me. Then I can post some of those student days pictures for all to see.

By the way, I think a bit of cake is hiding in that wicker picnic basket under the porch swing. Ole Blue isn't able to get that latch open, so you're safe to finish it off!

My earlier post disappeared. I asked for prayers for Carissa. Pain in upper right side and back and yellow eyes. They've done all kinds of tests and determined to admit her with a kidney infection. She has had kidney issues with every pregnancy...all four.

Do you have a miracle story you would like to share?

They're looking for true modern day miracle stories for their new book series, "It's a God Thing."
Like their parent company, God Makes Lemonade, they'll pay you $200 for each accepted story.
Check them out at:

Carol, I just now saw your post about Carissa. Do you have any recent word for us about her? The yellow in her eyes suggests jaundice (doesn't it, Edy?) though I'm sure it could indicate other things as well. In any case, we'll be praying and hope for a good report soon. God be with her.

Yes, BeachGrandma - my thought is I hope they're checking her for gall stones as well.

Initially they thought it was her gall bladder and did an ultrasound that turned out normal. When her eyes became yellow, she went to ER because her doctor was about an hour away. (she hadn't switched to a closer doctor since she moved.). There at ER they did blood and urine tests, and then thought there was a possible clot in lungs. Her blood work turned out pretty good and her liver was beautiful....so they said. From the test for a lung clot, they determined her kidney was inflamed and infected and admitted her to the hospital. They put her on IV for pain and antibiotic and hoped to improve her low blood pressure by hydrating her. She was dismissed this morning and she said her pain level was better. I think that pretty much brings you up to date. We all appreciate your prayers.

Thanks for the update, GreenLeaves. What a relief that medical technology can rule out so many possibilities without being as invasive as tests once were. Praise the Lord that she feels better, too.

HEALTHY EATING ALERT !!! :bow

Forget that I recommended Hardee's "Made from scratch" delicious, melt-in-your-mouth biscuits! :fingerwag

I just looked at their website and those biscuits have 370 CALORIES each! Not to mention lathering
mounds of butter on them (another 150 calories) plus your coffee. :book2

And to think I often have 1 Hardee's biscuit for breakfast and another one for a bedtime snack. :orangeyes

I'm shocked, I tell you, just shocked !!
:shocked

If you have a butter biscuit just consider it 1/3 of your available calories for the day ... I don't drink coffee. I use myfitnesspal on my Iphone to track calories. I actually has a library of foods, including franchise foods. Enjoy the biscuit, eat salad all day.

Mariane, it seems to me that after your surgery, the doctor wanted you to put ON weight. So eat away! Seeing as how the closest Hardee's to me is at least 1/2 hour away, I won't be eating them anytime soon anyway.

That's true, Joanney, but at the rate I've been eating those Hardee's biscuits, I'll end up gaining 50 pounds with very clogged arteries.

Bye, bye Hardees, it's been good to know you.....
