Surgery on Wednesday

Postby Allison » Mon Feb 11, 2013 6:26 pm

My hip replacement surgery is on Wednesday. I have to be at the hospital by 7:00 AM central time, but don't know the actual surgery time. I'll be at Barnes-Jewish Hospital St. Louis for 2 to 3 days, from what I understand. I would love prayers for the surgery itself and also for the recovery. I take comfort in the fact that I know I will be under very good care. Barnes is consistently rated in the top 10 hospitals in the nation overall, and also specifically in orthopedics. ( [edited to add] Well, that, and I know I'm under the Lord's care as well. :) ) But I'm still a bit nervous and what not, so I'd love prayers. Thanks!

I will keep you in my prayers. I had anterior cervical surgery done December, 2010. I first got an MRI. The surgeon didn't think that the MRI was mine. According to the MRI I should have been having a lot more problems than I was having such as dropping things and unable to control my bladder. I told him that God takes care of me. He had more extensive test done on me which showed that there was even more wrong than what the MRI had shown. God is taking care of us when we don't even realize it. According to the surgeon, before I had surgery someone could have bumped into me the wrong way and it would have paralyzed me from the neck down. I am so blessed and feel so loved and I can not tell enough people how great God is and that we can depend on him for everything. God loves you. He loves all of his kids and we are in his loving hands. :)

Also praying and that the surgery is uneventful and you have a rapid recovery. Keep us posted as you are able. Perhaps a family member could post after the surgery to let us know?

Hey guys,
Allison's parents (or possibly herself) will be calling me as soon as she is out of surgery and I will let people know the outcome as soon as possible. Keep her in your prayers and I'll be back on here as soon as I hear anything.

You're welcome ladies! I haven't heard anything yet, but since I've been at work all day, I really don't know what time her surgery was. Has she posted anything on facebook about it?

Just spoke to Allison, she's out of surgery and sounded slightly loopy. She's doing well though.
