I was here before but still feel new

Postby JRPMorse » Sun Jan 20, 2013 5:16 pm

Back in 2009 I joined Faithwriters for a short time and I won a contest with "Earth Breaker". I want to THANK Faithwriters for this because it gave me confidence to write more.
I self-published "Invaded Dreams" in 2009, (a romance between a Christian girl and a Muslim guy) this month "Invaded Dreams" won second place in the fiction category of Xulon's Christian Choice Book Awards. Xulon is the largest self-publishing company.
I'm so amazed. I give God the glory!!

Again, a HUGE THANK YOU to Faithwriters for your part in encouraging me.
Now I am back here to learn more and to keep writing. I'm still very new here.
I hardly know what to do next. JRP Morse

Welcome back.

Things have changed with loads of things to do - Contests, blogs, paid writing opportunities... Why not jump back into the Weekly Challenge? The rules have changed so you don't have to be a Gold or Platimum member to submit an article.

Have you checked the Home Page and topics on the Forum? Maybe you should hire a housekeeper for the day, just to free up time for you to rediscover this wonderful Faithwriter site. :D Congratulations on your publishing accomplishments.

I love to write. Nothing escapes the crush I have on the written word. I'm hooked on words!!

Welcome back! FW is still an amazing place with some incredible people who dedicated time and knowledge to help others become the best writer possible. I have learned so much since I joined 3 years ago. If I ever need proof that I am growing, all I need to do is look at my first challenge entry! I've come a long ways thanks to all those who left me constructive feedback. Now I'm eager to pay it forward.

I'm sure you've noticed some changes already. The biggest one is probably the new owners, Mike and Bea. They have poured their hearts into FW and it really shows.

Along with the weekly challenge, there are also monthly blog contest, as well as other contests and job offers. You do have to be a paid member to access some of these opportunities but if you can afford it, it's so worth it. I see how many contest that are out in the real world that charge way more than a Gold membership. Plus it has the added benefit of helping to keep this amazing site going. Things have been rough financially all over the world, but I can't imagine what life would be like without this amazing site.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have. There is usually someone around who will know the answer or be able to point you in the right direction. :welcome back

THANKS, Lillian, Shann, and "Red Baron",
I'm emailing from a remote place in African and sometimes the server here does not work (as in the past three days)!!

I want to enter the challenge but not yet as I'm "booked". I wish we could know the topic ahead of time so I could be thinking about it.

I'm going to be traveling to Mombasa, Kenya for meetings, then to Lisbon Portugal for a Conference and on to Gandhi-dam, India for another conference returning March 3. I'll take a ton of notes for my writing.

I also want to take Jan's classes. How do I start with Lesson #1?

Thank you for your help.

Though I can't find lesson one, (there were some computer programs a while back and some of the older post were deleted) however, you don't need to do the lessons in order. Peruse the different topics and see if one pique your curiosity. Jan had taken a mini-break, but I do believe she is once again popping in. If she is able, Jan is amazing at offering tidbits and answering questions. I've learned tons from her. You may just want to start here

or pick any topic and look it over and see examples others have left. I hope this helps some. Good luck! :D
