Praising the Lord for your grandmother's protection from any complications and for good healing, Rebecky. Thanks for the encouraging update!

:birthday to YOU, Don - Now you are officially as old as I - no wait. I haven't figured out how many times I've celebrated my 39th birthday, yet. :superhappy

DeeJay - I'm glad to read your report. Sometimes we forget that there are still "7000 that haven't bowed the knee to Baal." God is not dead, nor doth He sleep, and He knows what's going on to advance the Kingdom, even when our hearts tremble at the storm around us.

I received my new Susan Boyle album, just released, this week. You can get a sneak preview at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bbBCybHIHY

I am so happy for her - she even gets to sing a couple duets with Donny Osmond, someone she had a crush on for decades! 8)

Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!!! :thankssign

I had a pretty good day, but was very busy.

After getting up at 4:45am (my usual time), our dog had business to take care of outside...Carol needed some care and breakfast...I washed/dried and folded four loads of laundry...replaced an electric outlet in the garage...napped for fifteen minutes until the phone woke me up...thoroughly dusted and vacuumed Carol's bedroom...double checked everything needed for preparing our Thanksgiving meal...and then made my birthday dinner for Carol and me.

It's almost 7:30pm and I'm about ready to crash. Now that I am older, I can't seem to get as much done in a day. :|

Postby ready2go » Sun Nov 18, 2012 10:34 am

I just posted my new article on the FW general submission section. It is the most important article I have ever written.

The article is titled, THE SAVING GOSPEL FROM A TO Z.

Many/most churches either preach a twisted. non-biblical version of the gospel according to their traditions, or they ignore it completely while they focus on other so-called "important" things. They are often the blind leading the blind, and will be held accountable. Most people, if not most, don't have a clue and are spiritually lost.

People must hear the biblical Truth before it is too late. How else will they hear if believers are silent? The article tells the true gospel message, and is for believers and unbelievers alike. I pray the article might be used as an effective tool in efforts to win the lost for Him.

I don't want to stand before God one day (all must do that) to give a reason for what I had shared, or why I failed to share with others concerning the Name of Jesus and His gospel message. Even Job with his steadfast faith contemplated the accountability question.

Job 31:14b NASB
"And when He calls me to account, what will I answer Him?"

My article can be read here:

Don, I want to read your article and will before the day is over. I know how sincere your heart is.

This has been a not-so-good weekend but I'm glad tomorrow is Monday, the start of a new week.
Pain relief is hard to come by any more.

I'm keeping you all in my prayers.

If you think of it, pray for my youngest grandson. He's having such a hard time with the divorce and the teachers are so concerned at school. Tim took him to a Christian psychologist Friday and she said his grief is palpable. He never wants to visit his mother but wants to stay here with us all the time. It's a serious problem for a 2nd grader like he is. God love him.

Another lawsuit is pending. When will this nightmare be over for my dear son
?

Love you all.

I long to be gentle and Christ-like; I long to be just like my Lord."

Don, I read your article and left a comment. I would love to use it on one of my blogs. You're a good Godly man Don, and I don't care what the rest of them say about you!

Mariane, my heart goes out to your son and grandchildren. Divorce's ugly scars never disappear for the wounds are just too deep. I will continue in prayer for them and for you too. I am sorry your pain is not letting up . . . may our dear Lord send His soothing balm your way.

love and hugs

Checking in late afternoon on a Sunday--

Becky, I'm glad your grandmother came through the surgery--praying she has a good recovery.

Don, I'll wander over to that section to read your piece soon. I hope many of those who are not Christians read it and seek the Lord. You have been faithful and continue to be faithful in writing about Him.
I would hate to see how much work you managed to do in the days you felt good!

Always love to see you on the porch Debby. Your sense of humor reaches my funny bone.

Mariane, praying right now for you and for your little grandson--for all you family. May God work this situation out to bring joy into his life.

My Navy nurse friend passed along a sad prayer request:

Please say some extra prayers for Betsy. She is my daughter in law's stepsister.
She awoke yesterday morning to find Andy, her 32 yr. old husband, had passed away in his sleep.
They have a little girl who just turned 4 last week.

May he rest in peace in the arms of Our Saviour.
Kay

We had a memorable morning worship service, today. The words to the opening hymn set the stage for the message:

Once to every man and nation, comes the moment to decide,
In the strife of truth with falsehood, for the good or evil side;
Some great cause, some great decision, offering each the bloom or blight,
And the choice goes by forever, ’twixt that darkness and that light...

Though the cause of evil prosper, yet the truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold, and upon the throne be wrong;
Yet that scaffold sways the future, and behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above His own.

http://www.hymnlyrics.org/newlyrics_o/o ... nation.php

The sermon title: Many will be deceived.
I wish our congregation's website were up to date so I could link to the full message. But, since it isn't, here's highlights:

...One phrase jumped out at me as I read this text again, it's in verse 5 (Mark 13:1-8): See that no one leads you astray. The Greek is even starker: Jesus said to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you."
...So, as believers, what's our compass? How do we keep from being deceived? What is the compass that points us to the truth? Of course, it's God's Word - but it's not enough to have somebody else's explanation of what that Word says. The God of the universe desires to teach you to know Him...The way we are protected from being deceived, from being led astray, is to learn to hear the true Master's voice. Jesus says that his sheep will hear his voice. (John 10:27) How? by each of us reading, wrestling with and treasuring Scripture...

...In a time with so many voices, so many wrong voices, so many confusing voices, so many religious voices, so many voices screaming life-destroying, heart-destroying, family-destroying, soul-destroying claims - how do we stay on target? How do we know the truth? by knowing the Truth. Jesus is the Truth. There is such a thing as Truth, and it's a person. He invites us to know Him, to be made whole, and to have our lives guided by His Spirit....

I think I saw a big, plump turkey hanging out around the porch steps. Somebody grab him quick before he runs away. He could be a nice roasted addition for the dinner table.

Turn on the oven...peel the potatoes...make the stuffing...prepare the gravy...get the vegges ready...of course, gotta have pumpkin and pecan pies...and there's more, too. Yumm!

Anyone hungry yet?

I am sick at heart. We just read in the obituaries that our dear Cassie died. I had not be in touch with her for a few weeks but at the time she was doing well and going to open a craft store. Now I feel so badly that I was not in touch recently. My understanding is that Cassie has been a long time member of Faithwriters. Please pray for her family. She will be dearly missed.

Yes, Becky, you have the right person. Carol, thanks for letting us know. I saw posts from her on Facebook not that long ago. I know she was in poor health for a long time, but I hadn't heard anything recently. If you haven't already, I hope you'll post about this in the prayer request section so others at FW will know.

Could you please post this in the Water Cooler with the link to the obituary for other members to see it? Not everyone comes to the SPE, or the other regional groups. There are a lot of people who would want to know about it.

Thanks.
