No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. (1 John 3:9)
The Apostle Paul writing to the Philippians says, "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed - not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence - continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, (Philippians 2:12)" There must be a conscious effort on our part to restrain ourselves from sinning. This is not easy, because, often the temptations are such. Yet one must cry out for God's strength and he will surely help. The Apostle John mentions the same matter in 1 John Ch.5, with a slight difference. He writes, "We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. (1 John 5:18)"
Jesus is always willing to help if we cry out to him. He is an ever present help, even when temptations assails us.
