Welcome aboard the Porch, Gwenllian - I don't think I've seen your face around these parts before! BeachGrandma is our hostess with the mostest, so I'm sure she's going after another rocker with your name on it.
Thanks for the warm and friendly welcome! I am pretty much brand new to the ol' Porch. I've been visiting it regularly, but not contributing because I didn't really have anything interesting to say, until I saw Green Leaves sad story and it reminded me of my own poor Suzie Q.
I'll gladly take the rocker, with some relief! because I'm visiting from afar! (South Africa.) When you read this, I'll be snoring away in the small hours of the morning!
Call me Gwen! The full name is Welsh and has a most peculiar pronunciation.
Thanks very much for the invitation; I'd be proud to join the company!
I read your beautiful eulogy to your gorgeous little dog. What an absolute Honey, and what a dreadful thing it is to have to make such a decision, even when we know it's for the best. My Suzie gave me such a trusting little smile when I left her with the vet, certain I'd be back to pick her up later. It was many years ago, but I still feel like the worst kind of traitor every time I think of it. Still, I'm sure our beloved pets are tearing around the green meadows of Heaven, waiting for us to arrive. There's a verse in the Bible (though I can't find it at present) that says the animals don't need to be told about the Lord because they already know their Creator. That says it all for me!
your piece about Adonis! I haven't had a really good laugh in ages! That did it for me, for sure! Thanks so much!
I hope to visit more often in the future. Thanks for the rest in the rocker! I felt much better, with Ol' Blue's head in my lap and the Cranberry muffins with my coffee! Yum!
God bless you, everyone!
