Please explain griddle code; is it a code like a letter substitution on a grid? I think they used something like that during the Civil War to send secret messages.

Hi!

Sorry, it seems a lifetime ago. I just remember that information was received over the radio and then deciphered by the grid sytem which could be changed from time to time to confuse the enemy. Sorry there isn't a scratch your head smilie! :)

Man I'm impressed with all the code and what not. So did you know it or cheat like I did and go to a translation thingy?

Had to go back and see what "code" everyone was referring too. As soon as I saw it I knew immediately it was Morse code, what it said- no idea.

I like playing the Nancy Drew games and a couple of them made you do things in Morse code.

I'm sure if I can't remember Griddle, you can guess about Morse--yes the thingy!

By the way thanks for the em dash tip! :D

Hi, Dub! Funny... I was just thinking, "I wonder when the last time Dub posted here. It's been awhile, hasn't it?" and then, lo and behold, you had just posted. Perhaps I need to think that more often. I agree. You've been missed!

Hi Dub! How's work going? We miss you alot.

I don't know what it is with the internet lately; today I was going through my Hotmail email messages, and one of the survey sites I've been a member of for some time had promlematical surveys--three of them! One I was finishing and clicked to submit, and got a 403 Forbidden code; another I got 5% of the way through the survey, clicked to answer a question then clicked to advance to the next question, and it wouldn't go forward; the third I clicked to start, and got a "Service Unavailable" message. I reported all three, and a little while ago I was trying to access a story on FOXNews about someone in South England finding the skeleton of a carrier pigeon in their chimney, with a coded message from WWII still attached. They're having to work with logbooks from then to try to decode the message, but it's likely the pigeon was sent during a radio blackout during the Battle of the Bulge in 1942. I had to cntl+alt+del, shut down, then reboot and start over to finally read the article. And it doesn't help that today at the library it seems every noisy kid in town is in here, and God forbid the parents should control them.

I got an email in Yahoo that my brother seems to have written a book; I don't know what kind or title. He says he posted a link to the trailer on Youtube, but one of my cousins tried to access it but couldn't find it. I tried, and Yahoo said they couldn't find a device called "youtube". Stupid Yahoo, don't you know Youtube is a site, not a device?

Okay, my brother Steve's trailer for his book, "The Corporate Whore of Babylon" is at http://youtu.be/27nFZf2TiK4 . No audio, so don't bother cranking your sound up or wearing headphones. I believe it's available on Amazon.

Here's a hi and a what ho and a stretch. My, it's nice to have another draft done, but it's also not nice to be dry as a bone for inspiration. I have to get cracking, can't stop long.

Hi everyone! I missed Dub's popping in! It was nice to see his name again even though it had been a while.

Man have we gotten a lot of snow this year. We had close to three feet right after Christmas. It's snowing again too. I couldn't get my car up the driveway after coming back from church. I'm blessed to have a hubby walk down in the cold and snow and help me.
