FaithWriters 2013 Conference is planned!

I wanted to mention something cool, too. In the past there is always a little anxiety that we won't get enough attendees to cover expenses (though we always do), and that one year a long time ago when we did cancel the conference made people nervous. This year the hotel is amazing and has lower prices and a smaller minimum, so even if we get way less people signed up than expected, we'll still be able to cover costs. So if we do get small numbers, the worst possible outcome is that we'd have a few less agents and publishers there for you to pitch your books to.

However, we're projecting that numbers will be higher than ever this year!

Count me in by the way. I won't even have to worry about airfare. I do have one little question... Where in Portland? As in what hotel? Is it on the Maxx line? Do they have a GOOD coffee shop? Come on... I need info to add to my dreaming here.

My dad has offered to cover the cost of us going to visit my brother - but when bro and I talked, he was thinking August. I KNOW I wouldn't be able to go if the timing doesn't work out - just depends on Artie and his family's availability.

Pup, it'll be at the Radisson hotel by the airport. I believe it is near the Max line but not certain. I'm sure someone could pick you up off the Max if it isn't. And they have a grill and good food prices, so should have good coffee.

Just kidding, I'm not at all jealous! I'm thrilled that you'll all have the chance to meet together again!

Which leads me to my actual reason for posting; Deb, just wondering if there will be an Aussie one next year or if that will be unlikely? No dramas if there isn't, but if you were thinking of doing one I could put my hand up to help with any admin that might need to be done.

"Just saying" - he he, that's one Americanism I've picked up since meeting FWer Annie Keys!!

Helen, I was only talking to Amy about that yesterday. At this stage, no. My workload, and the cost involved in holding it, makes it just too much to think about at the moment. I'm not saying never, but at this stage, it would be one thing too many to handle alone.

BUT I will definitely hold onto that offer to help out.

OH MY!!!!! the 2012 Conference is going to be in PORTLAND, OR? I think I just might be able to go!! I've never been to an FW Conf. before, so this is extremely exciting!! My sister and her family live in a nearby city, so my hubby can come down, too, and visit with them while I'm at meetings.

How much is registration usually? I want to start saving up for this!
