Can I enter the contest and pass on the prize if I win? Here is an email I just received with this question.



I'm a platinum member and looked at something today. I don't get on this site much because of sight problems. The BUT is actually a question.

Can I pass on the writing assignments should I ever place in the top positions?

I'm now retired for medical disability - my eyes. I so miss my calling to write. I cannot accept writing assignments. Even though I don't write much any longer, I keep my membership in case God gives me clarity on a topic so you will see me randomly based on God calling.

My answer to Judy and anyone else is a BIG YES. If you win you can pass the prize onto the next place finisher. We are offering this because I know some of you may just want to help promote Water4 and their life saving mission. We need all of the writers we can get to enter.

I am attempting to participate in the Water4 blog contest. I am having tremendous difficulty using the hyperlinks. Even though I have copied the links I wanted to use from your list, when I examine the preview page in my blogspot, many of the symbols show up in the preview draft. Words such as TARGET, and symbols such as = and >, etc. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Hi Margo,

It depends on where your blog is at. The keywords set up with the HTML code and instructions you are talking about are for our regular articles section. Many blogs are much easier. On google blogger you just highlight the keyword in the article. Click the link button. Then type the URL in the box. The word you highlighted ends up being linked that easy. Also just so you know sometimes HTML code will not work in the preview button. It will only work when actually submitted.

If you give me your blog address I can check and see how it is done there.

Google Blogger - How to add hyperlinks if your blog is located there.

Just put your article in the box with just the keywords, do not use the html code in the forums.

For example if you were using the keyword

Water4 Foundation


You would have in the text just like I just wrote. To link it you would highlight it
and then click on the link button at the top of the text box in blogger. This
opens a screen where it asks you what URL you want to link to that word or
words. In this case you would insert

http://water4.org

I would then check the box that says open in a new window and then ok.

It will now be in blue and underlined. You can test it in the preview mode on
blogger.

Hey Mike,

Christian News Today posted my article but not the links....I listed it at the bottom anyway.

I have the links working and posted on two othter sites. just wanted you to know why the third one will not have links....

My links work in Blogspot, but not Facebook or Faithwriters. I write this and get this on the viewed document:

Margo, I fixed the very first link in your forum post. Open it in edit post to see it. Just do the rest the same way.

On Facebook I do not know yet. I know if you just put the URL in it will show as a linked address. I am not sure how to only show the keyword though. Does anyone know?

Hi, Mike. I figured out how to insert the links in Facebook. I posted in my Notes section but their help section did not explain how to link within the 'Notes' text. I was able to get it to work by using the code you gave for posting in the Regular Article Submission area of Faithwriters.com. i.e. <a href://water4.org/>Water4</a>

Please let me know if you notice anything I did wrong...this was my first attempt to post for the blogging contest. Shew...posting all the links etc was difficult, but next time should be easier (I hope ).

I stumbled on a great way to make things a bit easier.

Type your article in word just as a regular article.

Highlight one of the keywords and click on the insert tab at the top of the word screen.

Then click on the hyperlink tab.

It will ask you for the URL that keyword to link too.

Insert the URL you want in the address box that now comes up.

Click OK and this keyword is now linked to the URL/web page you want.

Do the same process with 3 to 5 keywords in your article.

Now go here - http://www.textfixer.com/html/convert-word-to-html.php

Copy and paste your article in the box.

Click convert word to HTML.

Now copy and paste the article in its HTML format into our regular articles box.

Presto your links work.
