Done! Back home. We won't know the results of the biopsy for at least a week. The doctor didn't seem bothered by what he saw, and said he thinks they all look like they are benign.

I've been using John's computer since last Friday because mine really went crazy. The computer man we use came by Friday afternoon and told me I had a bad virus. He fixed it, charged me $162 and left. The next morning I turned on the computer (which is relatively new, by the way) and everything froze, and then it did all kinds of weird things. John took it up to the PC man's office where it sat all weekend.
He called around noon today and said I had 400 "bad things" on my computerd and I might lose everything on my desktop, my writings, everything. You can't imagine how I felt. So John called him a few minutes ago and he said he was able to save my desk top, that he got rid of everything "bad" and he wants to run it overnight and see how it does in the morning. My question is "Why didn't those 400 "bad things" show up while he was here? No telling what the second service charge will be. He told John I shouldn't open any attachments for awhile, so I won't be sending out any attachments nor opening any til we can determine if this is indeed the cause.

We have been having the most violent storms you can imagine. Our power goes out a lot and because we're in the middle of nowhere, we're the last to see the power company trucks rolling in. A terrible wreck caused a major power outage Saturday night but I haven't heard if anyone was badly injured or worse.

I hope all of you are well.

Love you, each one.
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.

Carol and Don, Our hummingbird is pigging out for her long flying trip. Our wrens and cardinals and others are here-year long.

Mariane, I'm sorry about your computer. Norton keeps ours virus free. . .I hope.

Carole, I hope your husbands news will continue to be good. Your visit with your girlfriends sounded like such fun!

It's about 10 degrees cooler today--that would be 89!

Debby, I hope you're getting your house just like you want it. You'll have to send pictures when you get that yard to be a paradise like your other place, but take it slow and easy!

Laurie, tears are healing. Enjoy your best memories of your dad as you reflect on his life.

Wishing a good week to all.

Mariane, I had a virus that wiped out most of my files last fall and I have not opened many attachments and even links since. That is part of the reason I do not comment on a lot of the links that are posted on the boards, I am afraid to open the wrong thing. Thankfully, some of the more important things that I needed were saved on a jump drive or still on the camera, but not all.

Carole, I hope that the doctor's optimism on Bill's surgery proves correct.

Carole, I'm glad the doc thinks things look okay, and I hope the test results confirm that.

Mariane, what a pain about your computer. :( They're great when they work, but incredibly frustrating when they don't.

If you're interested in learning a little more about my dad, I posted here in the water cooler about him. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=35642

My mom and I have a long day planned tomorrow to take care of things. We'll leave some for Wed. if it gets to be too much.

Oh, my . . . on top of all things going on I have been sick . . . 102 fever and feeling like the crud I found on the floor when we moved our refrigerator!

But, by the grace of God I am still able to unpack. I have the kitchen, master bedroom and bath, the living room and guest bath unpacked and up and running. Even hung up some decoration in kitchen yesterday. Today I am tackling my office . . . did I tell you I had over 7 or 8 boxes of books . . . yikes . . . anyway need to find my box of paperwork so I can pay bills and get that all organized.

Once, my office is done . . . I will then just take it a-box-at-a-time . . . a-day-at-a-time until I am done. Has anyone seen my box cutter??? I have misplace that darn thing a hundred times wish they put a chain on them so I could wear it around my neck . . . but knowing me I would probably just end up cutting my own neck!

Will try to catch up will everyone by the end of the week . . .

Love and hugs

Debby

For the best antivirus protection, go to www.sunbeltsoftware.com and check out VIPRE. There's a table comparing the most popular antivirus software--avoid Microtrend or whatever it's called, but Kaspersky comes pretty close to the best, second to VIPRE-- and they have a one week trial for free. And it'll clean your computer as well as protect it. If you're really on a budget and you have a PC rather than a Mac, go for Microsoft's Protection --I can't even remember the name, darn me. Anyway, go to the Microsoft site and get their free antivirus protection.

The Prodigal has returned! It dawned on me, last night, that I have had no notices from faithwriters in awhile. Sure enough, I discovered I'm about three pages behind in reading, here. I'm glad everyone is persevering through the trials and tribulations of this broken world journey, as we bear one another's burdens and take them to the Lord in prayer. Halleluia!

Howard's four weeks of no driving has passed and he even jumped the gun by a day so he could get himself to a gun-range all-day activity! I told him if he didn't follow directions, I was off the case, he was on his own, I resigned, etc.! That was Saturday. Sunday we had another full day and Monday he was off to enjoy his freedom, again! So, three days without so much as a nap, I pinned him down for a day of rest, yesterday, and he didn't disagree.

He has a big day back at the VAMC on Friday, lots of appointments, but I think they'll find that he is doing well. I'm curious to see how his hemoglobin level has recovered.

I know many of you are suffering greater heat than we have, here. But, I heard on the news last night that today will be our 25th day of over 90-degree temperatures, this year, and every day in July was 80 degrees or higher (no wonder we feel a bit wiped out!). Reminds me of a conversation I overheard on the city bus, years ago, about the summer of 1936 (I should surf the web for particulars). They said houses were so hot that people slept outside on their lawns (the heat had apparently killed the mosquitoes). I also remember a hot August, I think it was, in the 1980s, because a niece had a t-shirt with a calendar page on it, commemorating what she'd survived that summer.

Oh goodness, Debby, like you need a fever on top of everything else right now. I hope you're able to take a break. I realize there's a lot left to do, but it sounds like you've unpacked the necessities.

Edy, thanks for the update on Howard. I've been wondering how he's doing.

I read that, for our area anyway, we had the hottest July on record. I'm told the summer of 1965 was a hot one, too. I've heard it many times from my mom - who was pregnant with me, overdue, and didn't even have a fan. After I was born, my dad bought a fan for the new baby. Awww...

If there had been a CHICK-fil-A within reasonable driving distance from my house, I would have been there today ordering food as a show of support for their biblical stance concerning same sex relationships.

I understand that people nationwide turned out in huge numbers to support them. Perhaps those promoting godless liberal agendas will sit up and take notice...including many churches and businesses.

Marty and I went to Chick Fil A today and, guessing, there were probably 100 cars in lines coming in from two directions. Not to mention the groups of people we saw walking in and lines out the doors. When we got to the window, I asked the gal if it had been like that all day and she said "Yes.". It was just amazing and I was glad to be a part of it. Even though we waited probably about 40 minutes in the drive through, no one was pulling out because of the wait.

The lines were very long here in Wilmington, NC too. God bless everyone who showed up to support this God-honoring company, John said there was going to be a demonstration by gays on Saturday at every Chick Fil A. Maybe Christians will show up, too, passing out Bibles and offering to buy a free lunch to every gay person there. You can be sure the liberal media will provide much more news coverage to the gay demonstration than it did to today's support groups.
