It would look like this

Where it says TheURLHere insert the web address in this case www.ptl.org. The URL letters and brackets come from the URL button at the top of the submission screen in the forums.

I, like I know a few others are, am completely illiterate when it comes to some things; this blogging thing has my brain swirling. I wish I had a private tutor. That being said, one of these days I will have to sit down and spend time just concentrating on what I am to do to join in on this. For those of you who are computer savvy, you are blessed. Hi Laura,

I keep on telling people to not be afraid of it. I should have titled it as "article writing contest". It simply is writing an article based on the ministry we are promoting and then posting it. The contextual links are really very easy to do. For example if you were writing a sentence that had the word evangelism in it. Instead of just putting evangelism in the sentence you would put this <a href="http://www.ptl.org/">Evangelism</a>. In the posted message only the word evangelism would be displayed and it would be in blue and underlined. It would be a live clickable link just like the word "Home" at the top of a FaithWriters website page. In this example the word Home has a link (URL) hidden under it to take you to the correct page.

Here are all of the pre-made links for the contest. When you write your article you use these keywords in a few sentences. You would use these for posting an article in our regular articles. Anyone can do this. Just try it.

Hi...this is my first time posting for the blogging contest forum. I copied/pasted my article, but the hyperlinks are not showing up; just the links at the bottom of the article to other blog sites. What am I not doing correctly? Thanks

My hyperlinks don't show up in this forum. I've read through the posts on this and have tried what was suggested, but am obviously doing something wrong. I'm near tears at this point. I know it's possible to get the links to show up because others have done so. I've tried everything I can think of. Hopefully, my article won't be thrown out because of this. The hyperlinks do work in the three places where I posted my article. If I must figure this out, then I am going to need some serious help to fix the links so they work when posted in this forum.

I looked and the only thing your links are missing on the forum is the = sign.

Yours are like the 1st one below and they need the = sign added like in the 2nd one.

Thought I'd encourage you all; I'm pretty computer savvy, but the hyper link stuff kind of did my head in last night, too! I started out as , slowly started to look like and after a few hours looked like !!

I am now back to again and happily drinking my early morning coffee.

My article was finished last night about 11. At 2am, I gave up trying to make the links work in the regular articles section. I will try again tonight. I was able to successfully post in my own blog, and on Facebook, though those were each an adventure in frustration, as well.

Is there a convenient way to access the right place to post in the regular articles section? I got there, but I felt like I had to go over the mountain to get to the house across the street.

I've gone back and posted my article in Regular Submissions. When I previewed it, all the links showed up, but after I posted it, only the direct links, giving the address, were functional. So I selected edit this story, and all I get is an empty page. Does that mean I have to start all over. Why would I have to repeatedly rewrite my synopsis and author bio when I only need to correct a link?.

Hello Grannys Pen,

You would use these for posting an article in our regular articles.

When you write an article for these contests you will be given keywords. You use these keywords in a few sentences. When the word evangelism appears in your article, replace it with this, exactly as typed.

Here it is in context - The Pocket Testament Leagues heart and soul is
<a href="http://www.ptl.org/">Evangelism</a>.

Only the word evangelism would appear in this article posted in our regular articles. You would do exactly the same for each keyword or keyword phrase that is in your article.

To post in the regular articles. Log in to the main site. On the first page you come to on the right, down just a bit you will see Post Writing and manage writing. These allow you to post tour regular articles and to manage or edit you article later.

2) To create a contextual link in our forums you need to type it exactly like the next example. You replace the words TheURLHere with the actual URL which is http://www.ptl.org/.

It would look like this in the forum. It would be underlined and in blue as an active link.

Mike, I figured out what the problem was, and have successfully completed my postings. Please forgive me for my confusion.

On a brighter note, all the clapping and celebrating smilies beside the posting field were an encouragement to me in my frustration. I felt like they were cheering me on, and it worked.

Granny's Pen - did you manage to post on the regular writing submission area in FaithWriters? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that you did, but if not let me know and I'll try and help

Mike - I forgot about the FaithWriters link at the bottom of my submission. I was able to easily add this to my blogs; do you require me to go back to the submission in the regular writing area on this site, or is it okay to leave it off for this one?
