Today was an okay day since it was my best friends birthday and we hung out this afternoon and ate cheese pizza.

Although tonight I'm kind of sad. Actually really sad.

oh and I was awake at about 3:45 until after 4am this morning.

HELLO ALL! I've been enjoying reading all the posts...was almost hoping to get the nickname 'Sailing Masts Bobbing' --kind of sounded like a Native American nod, but nonetheless Happy (as in Happy Camper) will do fine...as far as my real name, can you imagine my mother --from Ireland -- named her boys, Michael, Kevin and Kenneth, and then came up with Marina for a girl? It's a miracle I'm not Margaret, Fiona or Mary Magdalene Bernadette, you know? Ah, faith and begorrah....

Thank you for the CONGRATS on my writing...I actually had my bottom lip stuck out in disappointment for not getting a ribbon...and then not even a mention on EC... :( but I got an email about ranking 8th and I thought well, that's nice, so I stuck my lip right back where it belonged!

Shann, when Tad Wacky becomes an overnight sensation, and I am standing at the podium accepting my Academy award --and Nobel Peace prize, of course -- I am sure that I will have totally forgotten where I developed the idea for him by then, so you will just have to sit at home watching and grumbling that it was all your idea. But then, on my deathbed, I will have flashbacks of my life, remember your contribution, have you called to my bedside and repent of my poor memory. Then, and only then, will you be fully restored to your rightful place in Tad's story, and you will be able to write a magnificent screenplay about the death of the selfish mythomanic (me), and you will then become a gazillionaire.

Can you tell why I write stories? It's the Irish in me, I can't help but stretch things a bit.

Once again, thank you all for your delightful comments. Soon I will remember names (trying to memorize JoyAnn and Kate at the time).

Story to come: Tad Wacky goes to the bright lights of Hollywood to stand beside his writer and screenplay author to accept the Academy award for best writing ever. Tad barely survives hitting the hard pavement of the Hollywood streets when he forgets his Oakley sunglasses and his precious eyes are subjected to normal lighting during daylight hours.

Becky, I'm sorry you have had a rough few days but I was delighted to find out you submitted something for the Risk challenge. I believe Tiara did too and Marina and I did so that makes 4 stories from all of us! Now we just need to get everyone to comment on them.

Marina, I giggled at your entry. I'm not much of a nickname person myself. Oh and JoyAnn is really Tiara though Pup calls her Terror. I love how your mind zooms from writing a story to taking Tad Wacky to the Nobel Peace Prize.

Thanks Kate. I'd make some smart bathroom joke about having you going at the end but it wouldn't be proper so I'll stay quiet.

Has Jay been around lately? I know he is out there because he is trouncing me on Words in FB.

I'm missing the rest of you too. Holly hasn't popped in and I never heard how Barb's niece made out. I know Kara is enjoying the luxuries in the States that she forgets about when in Thailand. I hope Shelley is doing better too. The circus must be closing down for Seema and if Pup has his internet back up why isn't he on here? Oh yeah and Tim enjoys humiliating me on FB too. He has mastered the putting the words next to each other to form tons of two-letter words. All of my Bingos are useless. Ivy are you still out there?

Marina, faith and begorra to you too. I loved your post and with Irish blood you will be among the literary greats, no doubt about it.

The Mitchum boys, Robert and John were of Irish decent. Of course Robert was the most well known but I met John at a gathering in Corona del Mar in the 80's. When he found out my mother (not Irish) named me Kathleen from the song, Carry Me Home Again, Kathleen, he broke into song added about 10 verses to the original. Talk about having kissed the Blarney Stone, ol' John had plenty of blather but it was an entertaining evening.

I might right something for the Challenge on Question.
Blessings, Kathleen

Oh the words you used Ms. Kate the shock and horror, You know Amy and I are moderators now right and can't tolerate such language! :fingerwag Begorra Blarney, Blather
Okay I googled them. Blather means same as rabbit on is to waffle at length whichis perfectly clear :? Blarney means nonsense Oh found another blather that means nonsense or to talk on and an and the person doesn't have A clue about what he is saying. Another definition is nonsense. oops sorry all of those definitions were for blather.Blarney means to denote flatteryand Begorra is spelled begorrah and no self-respecting Irishman world use it.although A different source saysit means goodness me! Now my brain is spinning...
Because I have red hair Ihave been told I must be Irish but the side of the family that gave me the red hair gene is German, mainly though I'm a mutt.

Happy Saturday Everyone! I am up with the nightbirds tonight, waiting for my elusive butterfly child to call to say she is ok...she is at Disneyland celebrating Grad Nite, while her mother sits waiting for a text message to know she is doing ok. Since she usually is sound asleep no later than 10, 10:30pm, I am wondering if she fell asleep on "It's a Small World" and has now set a new world record for consecutive number of rides in one evening...LOL ...Poor child I could so see her sitting sideways in the little boat, head back, snoring, drooling until the ride attendant drags her out of the seat to make her get out of the park. :sorry I tend to get vindictive when left alone late at night...hardy har har

In the meantime, JoyAnn, know that I am praying for your tough day later today, as you go to the funeral. I always appreciate the time I get to think about how the person affected my life for the good, but they are tough times, for sure.

Shan, Shan, Shan! If you have red hair, of course you're Irish. German or not, red hair automatically qualifies you for Irish-ness. And because you have translated the language with such ardor, well, of course, you are now Irish whether you like it or not...or, I mean, you are now Irish in honorarium.

Katie, I LOVED Robert Mitchum...talk about Betty Davis eyes! What a tough guy he was in his movies!

Becky, I've read some of your posts and have been praying for your situation-- and will just say, put your eyes on Jesus and He will surely bring you joy, joy, joy beyond measure! Stay strong in the Word and you can rejoice in the Lord, just like David did, when things don't seem like rejoicing is the thing to do! :P

NEWEST RELEASE: TAD WACKY travels to Ireland and has a stout pint with the Mitchum boys. After a fight breaks out at the pub, everyone makes up and decides to go throw some darts. After a few round of darts, they head out to the nearest dance hall and dance the Irish jig til all hours of the night. TAD then decides it's time to head out to Barcelona, Spain for a bullfight. Stay tuned.

Happily Running with Sharp Pointed Objects

Yours Truly

Happy, Happy, Happy :thumbs :superhappy :thumbs :superhappy

Lord, help me each day to affect someone within my sphere of influence for Your plans and purposes.

:welcome Hi Marina, I'm Leah, and I live in Southern Cali too although I'm a recent transplant from the rainy PNW. I am very bad at staying involved in this board but pop in every few months. I still blame my wedding and subsequent marriage for my lack of online presence, although it has been 2 years already...you'd think I'd get used to it.

I went to the Orange County Christian Writers Conference last weekend and it really spurred me to write again. I hadn't entered the Challenge in well over a year - now that's a lot of $10/month for not using it! So Shann you can add me to the list of people who made it in. Like 3am made it in and super rusty but at least I submitted. And we can throw bricks now BTW. I will give little yellow boxes to he or she that asks.

Miss y'all. Hope y'all are doing well. I'm another 100 pages behind or so, so I don't know where conversations have drifted. But I'm alive.

Thank you my Happy friend! :)

Since we're talking about being Irish and all... I am mostly Irish and Scottish I would say. I get German from my Paternal Grandfather (and maybe French way back), Irish and Scottish from both Grandmothers, and I'm not sure of everything I am from my Maternal Grandfather but I know it includes Polish/Hungarian and Russian. (I'm not sure of the Polish/Hungarian part because his grandfather was from Poland-Hungary when it was still one country).

and Lets just say I look Irish pretty much. lol I'm so white and pale, moon burn can happen tonight. I have freckles all over. My eyes are blue/green. (everyone says they're green and they are blue with yellow in them). My hair is curly/wavy and dark brown and sometimes can look like it has red in it. The only thing missing is an Irish name...

No no no... that's Words with Friends! Actually wrestling isn't "WWF" anymore either its WWE now. WWF is World Wild Life fund or something like that.
