I got the deck staining done yesterday, and in less time than I expected-three hours. It bothered my hand, but it still held out better than I expected it might. I went over to my mom's last night to help her do her first load of laundry in her new washer and dryer.

There are a couple of appointments to attend with my mom tomorrow. A few things came up with the upcoming farm closing, so we're dealing with those. Nothing that should stand in the way of it going through, but just some things that need to be addressed. And we will probably have very short notice on meeting an appraiser (since the buyer's lender requires a little more detailed appraisal) at the farm at some point this week.

I too want to add my greetings to all the mothers out there. It is the most important but often undervalued job God has given. I had no idea when I was begging God for children what I was in for. ...just how difficult a task it would be. We thought for so long that we could not have children but after five years we were blessed with our first child. Three daughters and ten grandchildren later, I can say that I am truly blessed. I look back and see the multitude of ways I failed my children and always feeling like I was flying by the seat of my pants. I see my daughters as better mothers than I was to them. God is so good!

Welcome, tomoral, to our porch any time!

Debby, we've missed you! Are you feeling any better? Just seeing a post from you makes me smile.

Laurie, you have every reason to be proud of yourself for a job well done. That was no easy task and I know how hard it must have been for you. I hope your hand recovers quickly and that soon all the details finalizing things are behind you.

Carol, yes the torrents of pain and agony have ebbed and I am finding myself resting in the Lord everlasting arms . . . where I find the source of my strength and the power to bear the daily aches and twitches.

Our house has had some showings and I am ever hopeful that the Lord has a buyer this go around. I can't stress how much this "waiting time" has a wonderful story to be told when it is over. I cannot wait until I can share it with others.

Until such time . . . I just keep on keeping on. Not that there hasn't been times when I told the Lord ENOUGH ALREADY . . . but He is still working things out and patience is of the utmost importance.

The story to be told would not be a good one if it is riddled with complaints, moaning, groaning, worry, fret, doubt, fear and all the other things I do SO WELL! Satan has had some fun with me, but my Helmet is on and I got my Breastplate attached so I am doing very well considering.

I was once one of those "Faint Hearted Ones" you know the type always needing to be reminded that God still loves them and in constant need of reassurance that they are saved . . . so every now and then Satan points his darts right on those two spots and if I am not equipped . . . oucha-ma-gocha

My Lord is faithful and He will sell this house, after all He can part a sea . . . so moving this house should be a piece of cake . . . I sure hope He likes chocolate! :D

Love and hugs

I understand. I think I told you we were in those shoes at one point. We had built a large house, a BIG house. We had four generations living there. But it was on the market for a long, long time and it was so hard waiting. But then one day the Lord brought two buyers in one day! Thank God we can trust Him with all the details of our lives!

Dinner will be BBQ ribs, baked beans, cole-slaw with baby shrimp and for desert home made caramel corn yummmmmmmmy!

All cooked with TLC from hubby :P

How bout you any loving coming from the oven???? I bet Don is cooking up a special dinner for his beloved . . . go ahead make our hearts melt and our mouths droll and tell us what you all are having this fine day.

So, while doing research for my adventure-novel-spy-thriller-WWII story, I came across a great idea for another one. !!! Why does this always happen to me?
Anyway, it's a brilliant plot derived from a true event that would be amazing if I could work it out. Probably nobody else on here writes that kind of book, though, eh??

Debby, I have a great story about a house sale that has not yet been told. I can't begin to tell it all in this short space, but about a dozen years ago we owned a second house that needed to be sold. There were so many negative things about the house that a sale should have taken a hundred years. However, God sent the perfect buyer to us, and it sold in three weeks. Every negative thing that should have prevented a sale turned out to be exactly what the buyer had been looking for. God answered so many, many prayers for us, it's still hard to believe it happened. We got our asking price, and it was a cash deal, too. Sometime I will write an article about it.

Yes I did! We just finished eating...my mess is all cleaned up...and the dishes are in the dishwasher.

Yesterday I asked Carol what she would like for dinner today. She said, "Boiled/broiled cold water lobster tails, mashed potatoes, cooked cauliflower and peas topped with garlic Alfredo sauce, and fresh strawberry pie."

So, off to the store I went for everything I needed. The dinner was easy to do, and it tasted great.

Carol, Praying for your daughter Sherri, may the Lord open employment doors for her.

My computer came back with Outlook Express installed (to the tune of big $$) but I couldn't send mail out or receive mail for two or three days. Hello??? That's why I had it installed. But Tim worked on it tonight and hopefully it's been reset.

I saw the doctor today since my right hand was so swollen and painful I could only use it to punch out the walls as I paced the hall screaming. It felt like my whole hand had been slammed in a car door. The dr gave me a shot of cortisone in my wrist, saying I had a massive arthritis attack along with carpel tunnel syndrome. Oh good. Just what I needed. Two more things to add to my ever-growing list. When he stuck the needle into my wrist and hit a nerve I flew to the ceiling, the pain was so severe. But i gritted my teeth because I needed relief so badly. My hand is numb tonight but should be better tonight. Oh for a good night's sleep!

I read back through most of the posts to get caught up. BTW, Verna, I had to give up Celebrex because I broke out in welts and rashes after using it. (sigh) When I stopped it, those side effects went away.

Love you guys!

Dear Miss Mariane,

I am so sad that this new pain (or old one) has surfaced and caused you such misery. I pray the Lord will take His soothing balm and rub it into your wrist and that He will apply His healing slave to your every ache.

I am just looking into the past few pages and see so many of my friends needing prayers. I am so glad that when I am in my own secret place that the rest of you are there for those who are hurting and need of healing prayer.

Although I am not present my daily prayers have all of your name on them . . .

These are just such hard times for everyone . . . I think God is really letting His children know that He is the only one thing they can count on. Everything else is like dust and will blow away with the first winds that comes.

I know that right now I am watching and waiting . . . having had years of experience in this area it is helpful to know that my times are in His hands and I can trust Him in this.

In my younger years when the children were small and they had needs I was more anxious and didn't have the patience or time to wait . . . I do pray God will quickly come to her side and provide for her.
