Never judge people by the way they spell, Verna. :D  :D
I live in Virginia, about an hour from Wash. DC. Well, two hours with traffic the way it always is going into DC.
Yes, I spell in British English. That is because, as some of the moderators and others will know, I am an anglophile. (Look it up in the dictionary.)
What more can I say? I write fiction, mostly.Top secret information up till now, since you can see it at the bottom of the board index page; I'm seventeen today.
I love aeroplanes and music. I have sisters, indeed--six of them, but only the bottom four really use flyshooters. I also have four brothers and a brother and sister in law.
What else do you want to know? That I'm really amazingly smart? Or that I know how to take apart a computer and put it back together again without breaking it? Or that I am really bad at behaving myself like Don? Or that I'm going to fly to Shangri La tomorrow afternoon and stay there for the rest of my life? (None of which are true, so I hope you don't want to know them.)
Arpy

I write adventures, children's stories, historical fiction, war stories, fantasy, fairy tales, and spy thrillers.

IN PROGRESS:
Emira - novel
Undercover of Knight - novel
The Play-Actor - novel
A fantasy without a title
RECENT DRAFTS:
Liergy - novel
Operation White-Water -novel
The Anarchy of August - novel

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARPY!!!

Seventeen???

Uff da! I passed that one over a half century ago. I think that is why my misbehaving began.

Happy Birthday, Arpy. :) So you come from a large family. My dad was in a family of 10 kids. While I'm not as old as Don, ;) I'm old enough to be your mother.

Don, I'm sorry to hear you're hurting all over again. :( I sure wish I could loan out my nephews to you. They would be such a great help.

Verna, I'm sorry to hear you struggle with bursitis. That sure sounds painful. :( Anything that relieves it?

It was a productive day at home, and I will spend part of the day with my mom tomorrow helping her take care of some things.

I'm kicking around a couple of new ideas for my counseling. I like to ponder things for a while before I make changes, so we'll see what happens.

Welcome, Arpy, and Happy Birthday! I almost spelled it Arby since we have lunch there often.

My computer came back with Outlook Express installed (to the tune of big $$) but I couldn't send mail out or receive mail for two or three days. Hello??? That's why I had it installed. But Tim worked on it tonight and hopefully it's been reset.

I saw the doctor today since my right hand was so swollen and painful I could only use it to punch out the walls as I paced the hall screaming. It felt like my whole hand had been slammed in a car door. The dr gave me a shot of cortisone in my wrist, saying I had a massive arthritis attack along with carpel tunnel syndrome. Oh good. Just what I needed. Two more things to add to my ever-growing list. When he stuck the needle into my wrist and hit a nerve I flew to the ceiling, the pain was so severe. But i gritted my teeth because I needed relief so badly. My hand is numb tonight but should be better tonight. Oh for a good night's sleep!

I read back through most of the posts to get caught up. BTW, Verna, I had to give up Celebrex because I broke out in welts and rashes after using it. (sigh) When I stopped it, those side effects went away.

Love you guys!

I am so sorry to hear about your hand, Mariane. Have YOU ever tried the hot paraffin bath for your hands? I used it a couple times and it felt so good but I did not have any issues to speak of back then. Some people swear by it.

Arpy, I also have 6 sisters and 4 brothers! Where do you fit in the order? I am 9th, by an hour and a half.

Mariane, sorry to hear about your hand. That would be hard to type and therefore hard to keep in touch with the boards. Hope the shot helps.

Don, I know it is difficult, but you HAVE to learn to behave. We cannot have you getting hurt. Carol needs you.

I got my summer hours for the before and after school program (Kid's Company). I will be working 5 days a week, split shift, 7-8 hours a day. That should help the paycheck for the summer. It will be more hours than working for Kid's Company and subbing.

Mariane, I'm so sorry to hear about your hand. As if you weren't in enough pain already. :( And sorry to hear the Celebrex didn't work out for you.

Joanney, glad to hear that you will have plenty of hours during the summer months. And I hope the rental income will be a real boost, too.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a really great day falling off a horse.

I'm seventh, Joanney. By two years and eight months.  No twins or triplets of any kind in our family.

He, he, BeachGrandma. I used to sign my name with the Arby's sign! (With a p instead of a b) It's code for my real name, but it's a pseudonym. It was so uncommon a name, I was shocked to find that on certain sites it's already taken--Lumosity for one, and I can't remember the other.

I'm wondering why everyone is writing in colour.

WHY ARE YOU WRITING IN COLOUR????

Don, that means you too. And you, too, Joanney. And you, too, BeachGrandma. And you, too, Laurie.

DID I NOT GET THE MEMO?

Grean Leaves didn't either, any way. That's comforting.

Sometimes we forget to do the color thing.

But, sometimes we do the "bold" thing.

Memo...schmemo! We don't need memos. It's just one of the weird porch laws that says, "Thou shalt submit posts in thy favorite color if thou doth remember to do so." :cop

Sometimes we don't know what we are doing...

Arpy, you may choose any color you like for your regular posts, except red. We saved that for prayer requests so it would stand out, like an Urgent sign or something. Other than that, it's wide open and some of us switch around, some use the color that's already used. Or if you prefer black, that's ok, too. (We usually do obituaries with a black font). :P

Did you all know this:

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN http AND https?

**The main difference between http:/// and https://
Is it's all about keeping you secure** HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol

The S (big surprise) stands for "Secure".. If you visit a website or web page, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http:///. ; ;
This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecured language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site.

This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website! But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure codethat no one can eavesdrop on.

You understand why this is so important, right?

If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card
Information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins withhttps://.

If it doesn't, You should NEVER enter sensitive information....such as a credit card number, SS # etc.

Just got a call from our oldest daughter, Sherri. She has been laid off from her job because they didn't have enough work. They said they might have some in 90 days but she can't wait that long so she is starting to send out resumes yet today. She is a graphic designer. Would you pray for this situation?

Praying, GreenLeaves, for your daughter's eyes to spy the open door of God's direction to the work He has prepared just for her to do.

Happy Second Day of Birthday, Arpy! Who was supposed to bring today's cake and candles? I know it wasn't me! As far as choosing your favorite color, watch how confusing it is when one of us picks someone else's standard text - the replies will be addressing the wrong person! :P Like, if I pick
Don's blue boldface , instead of my green boldface = haywire for the brain! :tongue
