I guess I am not a true writer, Verna. I just haven't had any inspiration to get myself started.

Smithy, I see you joined Faithwriters on May 1st! That would be easier for me to remember since that is my birthday. It took me awhile before I found the forums when I joined, so I am impressed! I assume you are aware of the Writing Challenge each week? We will be looking forward to reading your submissions there or in the regular submissions. Perhaps you could post a link for us....

Yes, Carol, you are a true writer.--I've read your work. True writers often get writers' block. The topics are so broad they're easier to write about this time. "Weary"--now who doesn't know about that one!

I should be able to write about that...it's the story of my life. In fact I think the chronic fatigue is harder for me than the pain. I bet others feel the same way.

But as far as the challenge is concerned, an out of the box idea for it could be more difficult. I may just have an inkling of an idea......

Welcome Smithmks! Enjoy an ice tea with us on a hot day. Some sticky caramel rolls or donuts can usually be found around here, too. Ol' Blue, our resident hound, will lick your plate clean when you are finished. Since we don't have a dishwasher, he is handy to have on the porch.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Welcome to the porch, Smithmks. :) Glad to have you come over and introduce yourself. We're from all different states here and we like to hang out together, share prayer requests and concerns, encourage each other, and laugh together. Please tell us a little about yourself and what kind of writing interests you.

Been praying today, Mariane. What a pins and needles kind of a day for you, constantly wondering what's going on. Thinking of you.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, but don't feel badly about missing it. Somehow when one is older they don't seem so important.

Have you ever had mornings when you wanted to sleep in but there is one phone call after another? I may head back to bed for awhile if I get the opportunity but it is hard for me to nap during the day.

I am a little upset today. The doctor has scheduled me for an EKG and a stress test because of the chest pains I have been having the last couple of months and I am not a happy camper. I am completely convinced it is spasms in the esophagus but.....

I guess they have to make sure.

Welcome to the Porch, "Smithy!" Since you are new to FaithWriters, we'll all be happy to shower you with whatever advice you think you might need! Just ask! :thumbs

Dear GreenLeaves -
Happy Fourth Day of Birthday! We've only just begun to celebrate! I am sorry you have to see the doctor - I'd much rather go to the dentist. We don't have to take off our clothes and we don't have to get on a scale!

Lifting up everyone's requests to the Lord, "Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you." (Jeremiah 32:17)

Now I'm off to check on my cousin "little" Ruth.

The verdict came out to approximately 50/50 which surprised us all. North Carolina doesn't usually grant that kind of verdict because it's so disruptive to the kids. But it is based on several things that she must comply with by August 1 when it's to take effect, i.e. a job, proper housing, etc. for her There were a few tears shed but for the most part the kids took it like troopers.

More details later as I know them.

I am soooo glad it is over. I confess I don't know exactly what 50/50 means but I only pray that it will all work out so that the boys are happy and not upset over the outcome. I would also pray that all the negative can be put behind them to make a cordial relationship possible for the kids sake. They are truly the vulnerable ones amidst all the pain. I will continue to pray that God will work out the details.

Thank you, Edy, and the good news I discovered I have lost ten pounds since December. Only a few more to go to gain my desired weight, but if I don't, that too is okay.
