Yeah it surprised me too! I played "Zeal" on a triple letter triple word I think. As for Hitchhiker's Guide I would recommend it- but I really love random, British humor. But what honestly makes it so great is that Douglas Adams was a genius. He used to write a lot of the old Doctor Who episodes, so it is a sort of sci fi, so if you're not really a fan of that..but it really is a fun read.

Sad you had such a bum day- hopefully resting will help you have more energy tomorrow- and less pain!

Pup I would so help you move, but chances are I would get rid of half your stuff. Just a bad habit. I am currently going through my house room by room and getting rid of so much stuff and doing a thorough clean! It is so much work, but really needed to get done.

Kara when you come to states and run away to visit Amy when she is on East Coast and ma and Patty and Becky maybe you can spend some time throwing out junk from my house. I get so discouraged cuz I only have so much energy and most of it is spent on getting others to pick up after selves or really actually do the picking up myself but then I'm too tired to do anything else. My kitchen has been half painted for 2 1/2 years now. Chris had a fit when he found out I was using the ladder when no one was home cuz I get so shaky. I was really hoping when I was in hosp for Christmas, my family would surprise me and have it all done. I even hinted that the only thing I wanted for Christmas was the painting done. Also Chris bought flooring for bathroom about a year ago and about 9 months I bought the bathroom vanity hoping that would encourage him. He promised he'd have it down by Christmas but we are still tripping over the supplies. If things don't change soon you may see me on HOARDERS

Pup, I so get the bed part. I think because my bed is so horrible and I spend so much time in it that it makes my pain worse. In June, I get my old bedroom back. We switched when M and Lyd moved into the same room cuz the basement room kept getting water in it when it rained hard. I've wanted my room back for ages but haven't been able to get anyone to help me. Lyd has promised to make us miserable if we switch before she graduate3s. The plan is to get a new mattress when we do the switch but not sure if I'll have the money with Lyd graduating HS, and going to college. Q graduating college and going to Seminary and M graduating from Mommy and going to wedding. :(

Actually I am happy they are moving on and doing what God is asking but still my babies don't need me anymore~!

I didn't read the forum yesterday.

A Blessed Bday to Becky!

I guess I'll have to read The Hunger Games and Hitch Hikers...I'm reading Courageous Living about how we need to be courgeous for Christ.

I heard a bless sermon yesterday with the title "Butterfly Believers" - Christians go thru many stages as illustrated in the butterfly - larva > catterpiller > adult. Some stay as a larva. There was a rich old lady and it was her (90th?) birthday and the church ladies decided to get her a special gift, but what to get someone who had all she needed. The ladies found a perfect gift. They met the old lady outside her home and presented the wrapped gift box. Upon opening box, dozens of live butterflies poured out. The box represented the church building and the butterflies were the Christians, flying off to share the Gospel.

I think I got 200 points once, years ago, on one word in Scrabble - probably my 550 game.

Sure Pup, I'll be right over, uh, wait a moment maybe not. Are you more than 150 kilometers away? Sorry, wish I could.
Amy, if I stay in bed it always makes everything worse for me. Though I would imagine your cat did love every minute of it.
Shann, such great news about God providing the exact amount of money. Also the editing jobs.
Kara, great change of heart it will happen step by step He will be with you at every moment.Always vent away.
So is it really Miss Becky's birthday? :party :birthday
we had a lovely day with friends come for a visit. I have an invitation to speak at a service on the 19th at a Morovian school. Also to visit the school, it is near where we live, for once. Saturday was stupendous incredible and we are so blessed.
Tired but blessed.
Blessings, Kathleen

Shann, I love your plans. They are super tempting too! I would gladly come and paint your house, no promises about the flooring but I might give it a try  I think there is just something about your own house and the "i will get to it someday" projects. At my house we have several of those, but then i will go to someone else's house and help them get all sorts of things done.

I got a few encouraging letters from my in-laws, so I think possibly things are smoothing out. Hopefully.

Glad you were able to have a fun birthday with your friend Becky! You're now a quarter of a century. how cool.

Well today I venture out to the huge day market to start buying gifts and things to bring back, and then am going to get a pedicure. Time is ticking down- trying not to panic.

I think my hardest b1day to date was my 25th because I thought a quarter of a century how old! But now that I'm just a few years from a half of a century...being a quarter of one doesn't sound half bad. (catch the play on words, half-bad half century :clown )

I am glad your friend came over. Becky.

So Kara, it's a plan, you'll arrive with paint brush in hand right? The kids have been embarrassed before of our house because I can't do all of the things I want to do physically and we can't afford to pay for someone else to do it. But after Lyd came back from Nicaragua and met a lady named Esther who had lived in the dump for 40 years, raised several children there, she hasn't complained as much about the house and if she does it doesn't take her long to realize how blessed we really are. One of my favorite things she has said since coming back is about her trip to the dump. When they first arrived, the sight, smells and sounds were overwhelming and she thought to herself, how could anybody find God in a place like this. Then they visited Esther and she wanted to pray for the kids. Lydia was taken back, this lady who had practically nothing wanted to pray for her. Her who had a roof over her head, her who never worried about going hungry, her who bought new clothes and electronics. HER! Esther never asked for anything for herself except one thing... she wanted a photo of the group so when they left she could look at it and pray for these kids. In that moment, standing in the middle of the dump, with bugs buzzing about, with the sun shining down, with the smell of putrid garbage all around, Lydia looked into Esther's eyes and there she saw God the most she has ever seen in her life.

And if she will let me use it, that just may be my challenge story this week. Though she gets protective of her stories, I wanted to tell them before and she asked me not too but perhaps I can fictionalize it.

Oooh fictionalize that's a great scrabble word. Ever since starting this tournament that Amy set up, I keep seeing words and think oohh that would make a great scrabble word!

Becky so sorry your 25th arrived without your PopPop to share it. It is always hard on special occasions when a loved one has already gone 'home.' If he were still with you what would he say to you about being sad on your birthday?

Another beautiful day here in Latvia. The sheep are out grazing in the pasture the garden is ready or planting. I have pansies on my bistro set, the sunflowers are ready for planting as an edge for our vegetable garden. The mud patches have dried out and I can wear my Crocs everywhere. Life is good. :D
