Saw this on MSNBC: Thomas Kinkade, "Painter of Light', dead at 54. Cause of death is believed to be natural causes. :(

I guess his job on Earth was done, and his house in Heaven is completed. Pray for his family--the article said they're in Australia and couldn't be reached for comment.

As much as I love his paintings, it sounds like his personal life was out of order. :-( Will be praying for his family as they will have to deal with a lot of it.

The article mentioned an alleged scam with galleries, but it was something somebody made up. Generally speaking, whenever you see someone who is showing incredible, God-given talent, there are usually a bunch of people who like to stir stuff, talk smack about their lives. And this is especially true of Christians--Jesus warned us of this. The only one who has the right to judge a person is God alone. We Christians should take the high road of believing the best of each other, and not shoot our wounded--or wound one another then shoot them, in fact. Happens in too many churches.

Court records show the DUI and judgement against his business. Was not trying to say he was a bad person or not a Christian. Merely pointing out that his life was out of balance and his family would need prayers especially because of that.

So, I received an email auto-post that said I had a message waiting at FW, but alas no such message awaits. Hi anyway.

I had a couple of messages too, but they were junk--writing offers with few details. I get suspicious of those. I deleted them.

Well, I got another this morning. If you click on the link it brings you to FW; so, it appears Scott may have sold, intentionally or unintentionally the email list. Will continue to delete.

Look at the people God used throughout the Bible that had lives that were out of line--Noah got drunk; Abraham listened to Sarah and took Hagar as a concubine; Moses tried to deliver Israel from the Egyptians by his own strength, then struck the rock instead of speaking to it during the Exodus; Saul didn't completely obey when he was sent to destroy his enemies; David committed adultery; Jonah tried to run away when he was told to go preach to the Ninevites; Peter denied Christ three times, and cut off the ear of Malchus; and even Eli and Samuel, great men of God that they were, failed to hold their sons accountable, and the Bible says their sons were corrupt. Solomon married and took as concubines 1,000 foreign women, and ended his days worshipping their idols. Jesus is the only Person who was perfect; there have been people who loved God in the post-Biblical age who also stumbled, and most recovered. God alone is Judge.

Re: Hi

Postby deejay » Sat Apr 21, 2012 2:30 pm

A couple days ago, a homeless lady known by my roomies CJ and Diane stayed a night with us. Before she got to our house, she insisted on buying some food for us. One of the items bought was a bag of Granny Smith apples. Last night, I went to the store, got a couple ingredients I needed--including pie crusts--and made apple pies out of the whole lot of apples--12 in the bag. Had to use two pie pans because ours weren't 9", so I had to use a crust for the bottom of each, trim the edges, and use the trimmings on top in a swirl fashion. I had a piece this morning before leaving for the library; it was delicious.

Now, how in the world did I get this black marking on my hand where I was using a red plastic corer to core the apples with? It doesn't look like a bruise, but it wouldn't come off in the shower either. Hmmm.....

Well, it took a week of showers, but the black stuff on my hand from coring the apples is gone. Now I have a miserable cold, and when you have high blood pressure like I do--on meds--there's a lot of stuff you can't take. Ugh!

Blah
I had a bad cold recently, too. But I cured it in two afternoons--one of them reading and the other writing. Didn't take much, just some herbs.

Herbs don't work for me. I've been flushing my nose twice a day with warm saline, taking a hot shower at night before bed, and using a lot of tissues. When I have a cold, my sinuses become overachievers. But I'm slowly getting over it.
