Joanney, I am also a fan of chiropractic treatment. Not only has it helped me a lot over the years, but after seeing doctors in three states over a period of 15 years and being told that my symptoms were all in my head or I was depressed, it was my chiropractor who, within a matter of seconds of hearing my symptoms, said I probably have allergies, and he was exactly right!

Carole, sorry to hear of your returning pain. Amazing that Joe is coming around. May he have the opportunity to accept Christ now that his life has been spared.

Praise God for the encouraging report on Joe. Don't you love these praise reports, and though they don't come down according to our timetable, God's still very much at work!

I only have a minute but wanted you to read this article about the "Tim Tebow of Golf" as John calls him. Thank the Lord for athletes who are courageous and willing to stand up for Jesus, reminding me of the verse, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." And the other verse about God not being ashamed of us if we are not ashamed of Him here on earth. Does anyone remember the exact verse? My rememberer is only working about 50 percent these days.

Speaking of chiropractors....does anyone know if it is helpful for fibromyalgia?

Carol, while I couldn't say for sure, I think some chiropractors would claim they can help with fibromyalgia. There are different chiropractic methods.

I couldn't go back to bed this morning because I was expecting a call, but I would have otherwise. I was going to have a free weekend, so I thought I'd have time for myself and for some extra rest, but I'm not sure now. Depends on when my mom and sister get back today and if they want me to help this afternoon or tomorrow. Also, my brother may be coming on Sunday. If so, we'll meet with the potential buyer of the farm if he is available.

Good thing I last posted when I did - new computer-internet problems surfaced on Good Friday that kept us incommunicado until night-before last. This time it was the modem (so new it was still under warranty), or so they thought. After driving across town to pick up a loaner modem (didn't work, either) and then waiting for them to mail us a new one (still didn't connect us to the internet), they decided it was with the lines beyond our reach! We'll suspect THAT option, first thing, if there's a next time!

So, since returning to circulation, I've been weeding and wending my way through the email inbox (Uff da!). I haven't even dared to check facebook, yet.

But, I did consider it providential timing, since I had so much work to do under a deadline! I'm rather delighted to be weaned from the lure of the internet, with a newly established schedule for accomplishing long-overdue projects. God is good.

Last Sunday, after our time of confession when we turn to greeting one another, it dawned on me that "He is risen!" is the Christian's "Allah akbar." It is our watchword, our witness, and the hope for all creation. Perhaps one of you knows where I can find a story I recall reading. It could have been under the Nazi regime, or the Soviet purges. A man on trial responded to a question if he had anything to say in his own defense. The man replied "He is risen!" From the assembled audience voices raised, loud and clear, "He is risen, indeed!" (I bet that put a chill up the necks of the authorities!)

Speaking of witness---
From time to time, BeachGrandma asks us for the name of a favorite movie. I can't believe I've forgotten to add "Witness" to my list of favorites. It is a qualified* favorite, however, because of the contrast between the "real" world of city nightlife crime and the beautiful peacefulness, faithfulness and love of the Amish community. I have to wonder if the one who gave the movie the title "Witness" realized the witness was greater than the little Amish boy in a railroad station who saw a murder. This clip is one of my all time favorites, the conversation between the boy and his grandfather. To me THIS is the witness:

*qualified because the evil is so dark and terrifying it ranks close to "The Killing Fields" for horror, especially through the eyes of the child so unaccustomed to anything beyond the security of his home and family.

Since it is part of someone's program list, it continues on, I think, to other clips. Maybe that's what is messing up the reception. Or, maybe it will work on a later try, I hope?

Dick posted another update on Joe this morning:

As of yesterday Joe is still on the breathing and feeding tubes and dialysis. His is awake, hears us, but frustrated because he cannot communicate. They still have him sedated because of his anxiety but slowly weening it down so they can remove the breathing tube. Hopefull it may be out today but I doubt it. His vital numbers are holding but is down to 118 pounds. Hopefully he will have a better day today.
