Yep, Pup, I had a great time in Austalia! I fed a cockatoo French fries!
I made a slideshow and wrote about about my trip. I could post some stuff or email it.
Kate, I think I'd like an African grey parrot if I were to choose a pet.

I was super sad about losing my pretty pink pencil too but then sweet wonderful Barbie made me an even prettier purple one so it made the change a wee bit easier!

Jay, for some reason I thought you did have a pet bird. I got to pet a koala when I was in Australia, too. They feel interesting, don't they? A little oily and curly like a sheep. :)

Good to see Leah! I like the weather here in the PNW but glad you are somewhere that suits you better.

Kate, hope you're making it through the weather okay.

I'm watching a movie right now (well, TV show on DVD--Dr. Quinn) but have Kate and Seema's stories pulled up to watch later. Seema, I've had people think my fiction was real, too. I've had people say they can tell I have lived through such and such even when it was complete fiction.

Today my dad's best friend from Mexico and his wife came to visit. They come to the States every year or two and have one kid in Portland and another in Seattle so always stop to see us on the way between them. They are pretty much family. :) Was nice to see them.

Then I phoned Jess. She can't talk cuz of the trach tube. It was a tad more awkward than I expected :heehee I babbled on for a while but couldn't tell if she could even hear me or anything and then Clay never came back when I was done so I ended up just saying bye and hanging up. :P Hopefully she got a giggle out of it at least.

Then the girl from church that I mentor came over for an hour so I could help her translate some of the harder phrases into ASL for church.

Was a good day but I'm a bit tired. Shoulder is sore but so much less painful than it was before. I finally woke up a little less often last night.

Holly, thanks for the kick up the backside encouragement. I guess I am going to keep writing but I still don't know why? I thought I found my voice but I can't hear any uniqueness in it. So many others are saying it with more pan-ash.

Sorry I started the pencil color debate, who knew? I always thought the pencils were school bus yellow but what do I know? Also known as Ticonderoga yellow. Number two that is. :sorry

Both the California Code of Regulations and the Code of Federal Regulations refer to the color of school buses as "National School Bus Yellow" ... not "A kind of orange color" ... nor "National School Bus not really Yellow"

Get a grip people. They are yellow and so are the pencils!!

Okay Kitkat....get a grip girl! The pencil pink is more like nauseating "pepto bismal" pink. AND besides, although orange is most definitely not my favorite culler, it does grow on ya over time. AND, AND, AND, and AND.....

Just read your achievment piece and although I am not the bestest writer, (pretty good tho, if I may say so myself   ), I definitely think I am a great critquer on the guts of a story and you done G R E A T....so bottom line....now get a grip on yourself about writing! You are definitely called to write...so git busy girlfriend and KEEP writing!!!!! And yes, that's an order! :tongue

P.S.---Hi Shannikins. :D :D :D

Funny! Caught it right away! Two years ago, I did a challenge entry about the pencil colors. Now I can see why it did not do well! http://www.faithwriters.com/wc-article- ... p?id=34914.

But then, that's one reason why I don't write anymore. If the passion is not there, it's not fun. I'm having a great time with photography, but writing is still an option. I still have my blog, which is writing.

Kate, Seema, nice job on your stories!

Amy, I used to have pet birds. At one time 5 cockatiels, 10 bugies and 2 love birds.

Oh the pencil debate has been going on since the dawn of lead pencils. I don't care what you call it, I'd still rather have the pepto Bismal pink one over the ugly school bus yelange (yes I did just make up a new name maybe orellow would be better?)

As for the reason why you write it is quite simple. You are being obedient to God. He puts the message in your heart and it is up to you to decide whether or not you will write it. I will say many people have left me PM that my story really impacted their life Those are the ones that the judges don't necessairily like as much. Just imagine if you touch one person with your words and then that person touches one person, the impact of your words is amazing.

Okay, for the moment I will keep writing.
Thanks Jay for the kind words. Pencil debate: My pink pencil is NOT Pepto Bismal pink and I guess I can adjust to the golden yellow of the next pencil. I don't look good in lemon yellow so I am glad it is golden yellow. I will need to buy some socks to match, though. Matching socks and shirts are far more important than matching knickers. :tongue :tongue   :!:  8)
Love you Shann <3 <3 <3 :superhappy :superhappy :superhappy
