Thank you to whoever critiqued me

Postby Jacky » Thu Feb 23, 2012 4:14 am

Thank you for taking the time to critique me recently. Unfortunately, as my bank still refuses to recognise faithwriters.com and therefore to honour any payments I try to make, I have been unable to continue my membership, much though I would like to. I just do not have alternative means to pay.

This means I cannot see what you have written. Please could I therefore ask Faithwriters not to critique me as there is no way I can see this.

I tried everything, but the bank appears to be unable to change the situation and it is impractical for me to change my bank.

If you are, like me, a cooperative bank member in the UK, then please be warned. I can only use an electron card and although it goes through on join up, and sporadically since, some kind of software either in the bank or in the software taking the payment will simply see it as fraud and reject it.

After a lot of hassle and spending a lot of money on visits to the bank ( I live in a village, and the bank is in town, I gave up trying.)

I don't live in the U.K., so perhaps this suggestion may not be a valid solution. Is there any chance of using a credit card to bypass your bank? Instead of having payments deducted from your bank account, you could pay from a credit card account, then pay the credit card company that amount within thirty days. You would incur no interest fees if you pay within that time frame; at least that's the way it works in the U.S.

If you want to continue with Faithwriters, my suggestion might be something to consider. :D

Bless you, Lillian,
It would be a viable solution if I could get a card. There is no way I would get one, and to be honest made a decision a long time ago never to have any form of credit again even if I could.

Jacky, what sort of critique are you talking about? Did you receive a private message or something?

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Perhaps we could put you on the list of people who, for one reason or another, are unable to pay for a membership upgrade. If you would like to go on that list, let me know.

By the way, I understand the decision about the credit card. It's just really hard to manage without one these days. Even hotels usually ask to see it before handing over the key to a room (they swipe it and keep it on hold to avoid people doing a runner without paying).

I don't suppose a Debit Card (that is like a credit card, but uses your own money) would work with PayPal.

I would love to be on that list Deb. I am so missing what the membership had to offer. I am still also trying to sort out my paypal account which is frozen and I am not sure why.

I am also looking into one of those credit cards you put money on first and wonder if that will work. Usually my debit card works fine but the bank are really worried about fraud it seems..well maybe that is good in the long run but not so good for me when trying to pay fw.

I have been a bit distracted with other things but will figure it out somehow in the end. The silly thing is if I can pay Ithink I would be able to claim the membership on taxes.
