I got them from our donations at church; they don't look like they were worn very much at all. I just had to buy shoelaces for them. What happened was, I put them in the dryer on a rack for that purpose, set the dryer on fast dry or whatever, and even though it had 45 minutes on the timer, the bell rang after only 10 minutes. So I tried it again, same result. And they weren't dry enough. So I put it on timed dry, for I think 40 minutes, and that's what happened. They're Curves for Women, so in all probability they were made in China by fifteen year olds.
The glue Becky loaned me didn't work, so yesterday I bought a tube of adhesive of the Crazy Glue persuasion, and did them up last night. Took the whole tube. They have to set for 24 hours, so hopefully I can wear them tomorrow when I go to work. My feet don't stink, unless it's summer and I am wearing sneakers instead of sandals. But I wash my feet daily when I shower. When I got home, I put bandaids on the toe, and this morning I dug a package of blister patches that were among mom's stuff after she died. So far, so good.
