FW member Jess HAD heart transplant surgery - she's home :)

Update on Jess from her mom : Dr. Sims just finished the echo. It showed improvement from yesterday. If Jess continues to show improvement in the morning they may decide to take her into surgery later Saturday afternoon to remove heart pumps. Jess continues to make small improvements and follows verbal commands (ie. squeeze hands, shake head, move toes). We give God the glory and continue to pray for complete healing.

Dear Lord, please watch over your child, Jess. She is so young and still a bride. I beleive with my whole heart that you only want the best for each of us, and I know you are in control. Please Father, be with Jess, heal her body. Give her husband and family strenght and courage. Please give Jess the peace that surpasses all understanding, Your will be done.

The latest on Jess:

Prayer Warriors, Jess Capps is on the way to the OR to have the pumps removed. The surgery will take 5-6 hours. Please be in constant prayer for God's complete healing and for strength and peace for Jess and her wonderful famiy. We are asking for a strong and steady heart beat! I will update as soon as her mom lets me know.

Update on Jess Capps: The doctors attempted to remove the heart pumps today and her new heart is still weak. Please pray not only for Jess but also for her parents, her husband, and her extended family. They are strong in their faith and as so appreciative of all the prayers being lifted for Jess and for them. The need is still very great - Thank you!

Just saw this on Facebook tonight.

Newest update: her husband Clay told me the dr is still optimistic that the heart just needs more time to recover. They may try again next Tuesday. In the mean time, Jess will be able to recover more from the surgery and pray that she stays free of infection.

Update on Jess from her mom:

Jess in surgery to release leg/ skin pressure and evaluate hand /skin. Heart is doing good, same as yesterday. Concerns are: to much swelling will constrict vessels in legs. For sterile conditions decision was made not to do this bedside. Will update when procedure is finished and Jess is back in her room. Praising and petitioning God for His healing touch.

Update from Jess's cowboy

Jess's new heart continues to strengthen, but slowly. Please pray that we avoid complications until we can get her off the pumps and ventilator.

Wanted to update everyone on Jess's status today:

No surgery today due to scheduling. Jess's heart seems to be doing well, and it looks like surgery will be Thursday (confirmation to come). The Vascular surgeon is still concerned about her left leg.
