I *think* this year's might be a new record, by the time those last minute entries get in.
I checked the old forum postings--just for the fiction entries (not non fiction) so that was '07 and '09, previously. I couldn't find a final tally for 2007 (probably due to the server meltdown / loss of posts a while back), but did find where Deb posted the following 2 days before entries closed. At this stage, there are around 39 entries, which I think is fantastic. I know of at least two or three that are still to be submitted, so all up, there will probably be around 42 or so in this year's Page Turner.
I'm really thrilled with that. It's enough for a great competition.
Then, I looked up 2009's final fiction entries tally. It was 44, so I'd say there's a good
chance of a new record this year.
I'm pulling for 50+! Wouldn't that be great?
