Hi, poets!

I'm taking Thanksgiving week off--I'll be visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Florida, and won't be available to comment on contributions to this thread after tomorrow. See you with a new topic on Monday the 30th!

Very busy, but happy times for
All who need a rest.
Children and cousins
And grandparents too
Taking time to be together
In homey spaces
Or far away places
Not wanting to go back to work.

Closing the Distance

Voyaging to the hearth in some other place,
Across expanses of miles on highways of grace,
Closer and closer, the embraces, they near,
And as loved ones await, fond memories appear.
Traveling, dreaming, the yearning it grows,
Into littles one’s arms this dear traveler goes,
Opening forever the hearts down the way,
Nearing closer and closer, on this coming-home day.

We are down in Sarasota County, south of Tampa.

Been through Pasco County often. Our Uited Methodist offices are located in Tampa.
