I was wondering, when the weekly challenges are ranked as 1,2,3 places and "Highly Recommended" is that because they were the most read during the previous week? Do our comments add to the ranking? _________________ BLC |

No I asked that question lately too. The judges never see the comments they have a separate area where they read them from and- I think they have a point system they rank the articles on. The yellow bricks are for our encouragement and help from other writers in the challenge. We will never get a comment from a current judge in that area. That is how I understand it.
Happy writing! Ruth Brown |

There's a forum on these boards that gives more information on the judging process--scroll down to the "Writing Challenge" forums and you'll see one on the judging criteria.
Browniesgal is right--the number of reads or comments has nothing to do with the judging; in fact, the judges do not see those comments.
If you're curious about why some stories get more comments than others--most probably, the writers of those stories have "hinted" about their title on the Sunday or Monday after the stories go public. It's another forum--look for it, it's called something like "Hinting and Hunting". Basicially, it's a fun little game that we play AFTER the judging is complete, but before the winners are announced. Go ahead and scan through one of the recent "hinting" threads, and you'll see how it's done--it's great fun, and a wonderful way to get more reads and more comments.
Feel free to post another question if any of this isn't clear--we've ALL asked similar questions when just getting started, and you'll find lots of people who are willing to help you out.
It's very quickly addictive! _________________ Jan Ackerson

Thanks! The information was so very informative. I need to print it out and go over it many times. _________________ BLC |
