While on the phone with friend or family, they get another call so tell you they'll call you back, so they can answer the other call. And then you sit and wait for their call-back, which never comes! GRRRRR!
You make an appointment for a repairman to come fix your appliance and when you ask when to expect him, they reply, "He'll be there between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m." That means you must stay home all day, probably, so you do not miss the repair job!
There's a sale on "sweet ripe" watermelons, so you buy one and take it home. You cut off a tiny slice to taste it, and it is not sweet at all. Most disappointing! I've thought of returning it to the store, but haven't got up the nerve yet. Maybe next time!
You're an avid wild bird lover and keep the feeders full during the winter months. One day you discover that the neighbor's cat has decided to dine on your fine feathered friends!
