Guessing so, though I'm not the "official" one to ask.

Thanks, I just had my hair done yesterday... my hubby and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary next week (Tuesday is our anniversary) with a trip to Yosemite. My sil did my hair for me; all I had to do was pay for the product.

OK, so we can turn this thread into talking about how great marriage is, huh? :party

When we planned our wedding I didn't even think of it being June and my being a "June Bride" :D

Viva la marriage indeed! Does that mean long live marriage?

Congrats everyone!

Yep---Long live marriage! I'm happier after almost 51 years than I was at 20--my first year.

We are much happier too... and I thought we were happy back then! We were 23 when we got married, and while we loved each other then, the love now is SO much different... we're not just 'in love' any more, we're loving each other... if that makes sense! If you click on the link Treasures from My Heart - you can see what I just wrote about it the other day along w/ some pictures of our dating years and our anniversary announcement for our party.

Congratulations Pamela!

We are going on 23 years. Sam still introduces me as his "first" wife. Or he'll say, "Yup, I've been married 22 years--4 of the happiest years of my life are in there!"

I married him for his sense of humor, well maybe not.

We met giving blood. He was on the cot next to mine, and bet he could fill his blood bag faster than I could. By the time we were done, I was in love. I was too light-headed not to be.

Let me add my congratulations, too, Pamela! I really enjoyed the story of your courtship.

When I first met my wife, it was if all the clocks had been off kilter and I hadn't really noticed until that moment; and then suddenly they re-set themselves.

She was up on a ladder filing something and when she came down, it was was an angel descending. Unfortunately, she worked for me - so I rushed to personnel to see if she was married. She wasn't and the rest is history.

And, Lisa, noticing your avatar, we had a Wheaton Cairn Terrier named Tigger. Seeing that picture suddenly reminded me of him.

Congratulations to all the anniversaries out there. It's always encouraging to not only see marriages that are long-lasting, but also ones where the couple is even more nuts about each other than the day they tied the knot.

For all those cynics out there that say marriage doesn't work, all I can say is, marriage is like a tandem bicycle. It works or doesn't work based on the maintenance and effort of the two people involved. If you ain't workin' together, you ain't goin' nowhere.

Shalvia and I counting down to our 30th in less than eight months. I still think she's the cat's pajamas.

Gee, Hoomi, that's a great metaphor. Do you mind if I use it in my novel?

I've changed the title, by the way, to Hundred-Pocket Marriage with the word "Mirage" superimposed on "Marriage." The book asks the question is great love within marriage a real possibility, and if so what does that look like?

Do you think that's getting to artsy fartsy? With the title, I mean. The original title was, "Hundred-Pocket Marriage"--I thought it might sound like a self-help book.
