8 Reasons why a Freelancer should not be a Prima Dona 5/4/09

Postby Writetrack » Mon May 04, 2009 6:26 am

Every freelance writer wants to be busy. In fact, it would be nice to have enough clients and assignments to completely fill our monthly calendar, wouldn't it?

However, some writers feel that they've "arrived." That they're "all that." And because they have entered this "Prima Dona Zone," they start turning down work left and right because they think they don't "need" any more.

But this week, Glenn is here to tell you why it's never a good idea to assume you've "arrived" as a freelancer and why it's probably in your best interest to not only keep a humble attitude about the work that continues to pour in, but also to keep saying yes to those assignments.

Here is an article teaser:

Many freelancers are in high demand. Their work is sought after and used far and wide. It may feel a bit like you've moved into a 'rock star' status if your proverbial writing 'dance card' is always full. It may be enticing to simply shrug off a request from a client when you are especially busy. I'd like to talk about why this may not be in your best interest.
