Thank-you judges - this was a fun piece to write and brought back some fond memories of playing in the yard with my neighbors and siblings.

Congratulations, to all who entered and placed; the writings continue to be both an inspiration and a challenge.

Take care - Loren

Di Dart
1 a: a full suit of armor b: ceremonial attire
2: something forming a protective covering
3 a: a magnificent or impressive array <the> b: a display of all appropriate appurtenances <no>

I used meaning #3.

Someday I hope to write about a knight, in which case I would get a chance to use meaning #1.

Tonight, I'll use meaning #2. I'll say, "Sweetheart, I don't tell you this enough. Thank you for all the panoply you provide to your family."

I bet if you try, Dianne, you can use it once or twice before the day's over.

Wonderful list of winners. Doesn't surprise me to see Lisa up there. Her writing is superb. Seeing Loren, Kristen, Cat, and Lynda up there is great as well. Can't forget Sonya either. Her story was one of my favorites this week.

Congrats to everyone else I didn't mention. Normally I like to call out more individual names, but I am pooped tonight and need to get in bed. Anxious to see the top 490 list tomorrow to see if I made the cut. Goodnight everyone!

Well, I didn't. Especially since mine was listed right after Lisa's. I read hers (and a some others) and thought, "Wow, I'm way out of my league!" Excellent writing, my friends.
