Well, yeah - but there are different TYPES of insanity. I really don't think this particular brand is necessarily in the writer's job description. Hope not, anyway!

Many first chapters may be rather lengthy. However, many current Christain novels have very short chapters. I have a novel in which I took that route. Is it possible to submit more than one very short chapter? Perhaps a maximum word count could be an alternative to just a first chapter.

That's in the information on the Page Turner Contest page. Yes, if someone has very short chapters (4 or 5 pages long), they can submit more than one.

Steve, that's the general Page Turner information (more so non-500 members know what's going on). At the bottom of that page there would have been a link for those who are 500 members. It will take you to this:

There is no upper limit, but I don't want a novel in one chapter.

It's important to remember that the judges have to read all the submissions, and if a lot show up right at deadline, in a month's time as well.

Additionally, my guess is that the judges also read the synopsis for each entry. I'm not sure how many judges there are, or whether each judge reads all the submissions. I'm sure, though, that they appreciate our consideration for not overloading them if we can help it.

Deb commented that early submissions are greatly appreciated, too.

The synopsis plays a part in the judging process. A great chapter is one thing, but if the synopsis sounds like the overall book will be fairly boring, that will be taken into account.
