Gerald--I love your CSI idea! Maybe you should plug that to someone in Hollywood...it's a "gimmick" that I've never seen before, and there's very little new and fresh coming out of there right now.

Yvonne--How sad that your charming little fable was rejected! And I totally agree with you that today's children are woefully under-educated in myths, legends, fairy tales, fables, and the like. I'm very much like you in that regard--I devoured them as a child, and I'm far richer today because of it.

NOTE to parents of young children out there: Please--expose your children to these classics! They're full of wisdom and delight, and will give your children a fine foundation for understanding all kinds of more "advanced" literature.

Holly--great answers to my thought-provokers. I especially appreciated what you wrote for #2...how does one write a fable in which the "moral" is something like "It's not wrong if you don't get caught"? I also like your "turning the tables" scenario...excellent.

Colin, you're exactly right with these! Fable, Parable, and Allegory, just as you said.

I'm glad you feel comfortable in this genre. It's certainly not my strong point, although I really like to read them. Thanks for providing these links.
