Thanks for getting back to me, Jan. I thought of italics, too, but I wanted that coproreal feel of that entiity and thought quotes would do a better job of supporting this. Looking forward to Part II of this class, as I am enclined to open some of my pieces with quotes as well.

"Yes, Joanne?" Miss Jan raised her eyebrows and peeked over her horn-rimmed glasses.

"I think there's a problem, umm," Joanne stuttered, "with my homework."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. A problem." Joanne gulped.

"And what might that be?"

"My dog ate it."

"But Joanne," Miss Jan said, "you don't have a dog. And besides, it's an internet assignment."

"Oh yeah," Joanne said nervously. "Well, here it is."
