In A Bouquet of Solace, I used alliteration, assonance, and consonance within a story to create mood.

May, I think you have a great ear for poetry! And "yes" I think you can use all three ....maybe not easily, but they can be woven in and out of your lines.

(I don't want to give up my 'ing' words. They have such wonderful flow and sound and action! No...No..No... Don't take them away! ) :o
