I have to say, right here, that I have been blown away by the standard of entries in our first Page Turner contest. There are MANY that would make very worthy 1st place winners.
Once the winner has been announced, I am planning to write to every entrant (although it may take a little while to get to everyone) and give them some feedback. There is no way in the world I want anyone to feel they lost in this contest. Seriously, I'm overwhelmed at the talent and creativity.
Love, Deb

I'm so not holding my breath for a win. My manuscript has changed a bit since I first submitted (it's MUCH better - I could quickly send you the new version, Deb - it might make a difference in judging! )
Anyway, while winning would be great, I'm still bound and determined to get my manuscript published, or at the very least, considered by a major Christian publishing house.
I'll be truly thrilled for whomever takes home the prize.

It is REALLY exciting, and I know who won. LOL.
The fiction Page Turner will come around in 2009, Amy, so there's always that to aim for. At the rate these years are going, it will be here before we know it. I know it doesn't really seem all that long since I was hinting about the new contest coming for 500 members, and here we are about to announce the winners. Amazing.

Ohh! Now she's gloating! breathfreshair wrote:The fiction Page Turner will come around in 2009, Amy, so there's always that to aim for.
Hmmm...working on an idea now would seem timely...Could have that novel finished by then...oh, probably should finish this one first.
**Ponders possibility of finishing one novel and writing another before 2009, considers current state of non-writing. Laughs derisively and snaps back to reality.**
Ahh, I'll have plenty of time to whip up an entry in the last month before the deadline!

I'm with ya, Betts. I don't have anything in, but I'm SO excited to see who "got it."

Excited here too. Not sure what to think. I adapted my writing style to try fitting "page turner" mold and completely unsure how it worked out. Excited to see the winner and some info on the entries if at all possible.

Mine is like a car wreck... it's disturbing and uniquely twisted that you can't help at admiring the horror of the situation.

hee hee ... compliment accepted.
I will also state, right here for the record, that no chocolates or other partializing (how's that for a word?) trinkets were forwarded to me during the course of this contest.
Mind you, some choccies would have been quite nice while I was doing all that reading.
Actually, that's one of the problems with my job. When I'm editing or reading for reviews, etc., I always feel like snacking on something (of the not healthy variety). I'm going to have to start wearing a gag or something ... but then how will I get my Diet Coke?
Ah, the problems of the job!

ROFL. Hopefully the first variety. You're quick, cheeky monkey face.
To be honest, when it comes to the two leading brands (not the lumps of coke type), I don't mind either. (But don't let Jan hear me say that.)
