Thought passage: 1 Chron. 4:10. "And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand meight be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."
In his prayer, Jabez petitioned God to, “keep me from evil” he did not say, “keep evil from me.” This is why Jabez was honorable; he wanted to live a holy, godly life. God is not a genie to answer our every wish; He balances each request with His will and our intentions.
