Today I have been studying, praying and I saw the need to be zealous in the Lord's work. And what I see coming will be as a result of being zealous in the Lord's work. I see Jesus goes to the temple and He finds that the people have made His father's a place of merchandise, and what do the disciples say? The zeal of your house has eaten me up..
Zeal is a driving force. It is a dynamic force, it enables us do God's work with vigor. This is what we need, it is a drive we need in life to do and accomplish God's work. Zeal makes us ready to die for what we believe and stand for. If we stand for the truth, it is zeal which will make us stand, without it, then we would fall.
Zeal is not like emotions, emotions may come and go, emotions never last, emotions can lie to you, emotions can make you do something and think it was from God, emotions are just fleshly things but when you have a zeal, a zeal to do God's work, it is like some kind of force inside one's heart, an inner force which drives you and makes you live for the Lord.
To have a zeal, it will determine whether you will accomplish God's mission or not. I know the Lord has given us all a mission and we are bound to accomplish it, this is what He has been teaching me, about the zeal, zeal for His work.
God will never give us a task to perform without giving us a zeal to accomplish it. He knows that when we have a zeal inside us, we can do the impossible, we can change the world, we can transform lives, we can go greater heights where others have never been to, and that is when we do have a zeal for His work in us!
We can always look forward for greater things for the zeal in us will be like an inner fire that craves for results, we want results, we want miracles, we want to see the Lord's deeds, we want lives saved and transformed for the better. This is the zeal in us, we can be able to see the glory before and make bold steps toward that!
Phil 1:21, for me to live is Christ and to die is gain. Paul could see the glory before him. He saw all that would happen in the future and in the present. He never minded what would happen in his life, if he died, that was gain to him, if he lived, he lived for Christ. No man could ever say that except that he had a zeal in his heart, a driving force which convicted him to move forward and never give in into this earthly and perishable things, the zeal inside him motivated him to make bold steps toward achieving what the Lord had for him.
1Cor. 9:16- for though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory. See here, nothing stopped Paul's zeal to continue working for the Lord. His eyes were fixed on the glorious end. When the zeal is in your life it is like fire which burns within you, it burns and it can never be quenched or stopped! Zeal never accepts failure, it instead sees every obstacle as a stepping stone to victory!
May the Lord put in you a zeal to work for Him!
Go out with that zeal, carry your candle, run to the darkness and declare the Lord's goodness to all generations!
