This scripture just 'stuck' with me the other day,
Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. (Matthew 11:21)
It just kind of brings the purpose of 'signs, miracles and wonders' into proper perspective--it's all for the purpose of repentance. Merely experiencing a miracle or healing is not necessarily a sign of salvation--repentance is.
May this new year lead us all into a life of repentance, and may we, like Zaccheus, experience the true joy of giving it all away for God.
