Has anyone worked with Writers Book Publishing Agency? They are potentially interested in one of my books for publication. I would appreicate any comments or knowledge that anyone has about them. Are they reputable? Do they perform as they say? Are they honest?

Hi Jinianne. They are bad news and should be avoided at all cost. They pop up, in various guises, in Google ads, etc, but it's the same old scam.

Legitimate agents and publishers do not take Google ads to find writers. Writers find them. That's the first thing that trips the warning bells.

The reality is that the owner of this scam has a long history. You can find a discussion about it on the Absolute Write forum here:

http://www.absolutewrite.com/forums/sho ... p?t=102733

and a little more information here:

As soon as I saw the webpage for the Writers Book Publishing Agency, I knew it was the same old thing. They must use the same template every time. Steer clear.

Love, Deb

In addition to what Deb said, avoid any agent that asks for money up front. Beyond that I really don't know a lot about agents.
