Gerald--I love your CSI idea! Maybe you should plug that to someone in Hollywood...it's a "gimmick" that I've never seen before, and there's very little new and fresh coming out of there right now.
Yvonne--How sad that your charming little fable was rejected! And I totally agree with you that today's children are woefully under-educated in myths, legends, fairy tales, fables, and the like. I'm very much like you in that regard--I devoured them as a child, and I'm far richer today because of it.
NOTE to parents of young children out there: Please--expose your children to these classics! They're full of wisdom and delight, and will give your children a fine foundation for understanding all kinds of more "advanced" literature.
Holly--great answers to my thought-provokers. I especially appreciated what you wrote for #2...how does one write a fable in which the "moral" is something like "It's not wrong if you don't get caught"? I also like your "turning the tables" scenario...excellent.
