C.J. in Hospital; Melantha Dying

Yesterday, my roommate C.J. went to the hospital because of severe asthma; this is like the fourth time in the last month she's gone to the E.R., and yesterday they admitted her. She's staying until tonight, I think she'll be released tomorrow morning. Please pray her asthma improves--she was born with asthma, and was very sickly all her life.

A former roommate, Melantha, who used to hog the T.V. and sleep on the sofa, and who didn't do her share of the housework when she lived with us--we asked her to leave 2 years ago--and on top of that used to spy on us and report to the shelter next door, has pneumonia. The other day she was supposed to have been taken to the doctor but didn't go; yesterday morning she collapsed in the shower and was taken to the hospital, and has a trach in her throat. This morning we recieved news that she might not make it. Melantha came from a wealthy family and has mental health issues. Pray for her family and for a miracle of healing.

UPDATE

C.J. is out of the hospital--a day early--but because of the cold weather is still having problems (our house has no heat, we use little space heaters--so keep her in prayer.

Melantha turns out had this flu that's going around, she's in a coma. They stimulated her muscles, and when they finished, she moved her eyebrows up and down. We're not sure if this is a reflex or if it's a sign she's coming around. Continue in prayer.

C.J. asked me this morning to pray for a doctor--God knows who he is--who goes downtown to tend to the homeless at Civic Center. He and his team are leaving tomorrow for the Amazon; she thinks they'll be gone for three weeks. Pray for their safety and traveling mercies.

I forgot to mention they put a pacemaker into Melantha.

Could you also pray for Diane? She was doing so well on her resolution to stop drinking, then last night a male friend of Cookie's came over and had a bottle of wine he brought with him, then went out and bought another, huge, bottle. Diane, who's normally a beer drinker, had some, and is pretty sick. She's really beating herself up over this. We told her that if she falls off the horse, get back up and ride.
We're also kind of concerned about the guy--he was smashed when he left, and I went out to feed the cats, I should've gotten his plate number and called 911 on him after he left. There have been a lot of accidents lately, either people driving impaired or some other reason, and innocent people get hit. Don't have his name, but I hope he got pulled over and spent the night in the drunk tank.

Just got a text message from C.J. and Diane; Melantha passed away this morning. Thank you for praying for her.

Last Wednesday they had a memorial service at Isaiah House next door for Melantha; her ex-husband and kids came, but her parents didn't. There were pictures of Melantha when she was younger; C.J. took a picture of one with her camera phone, and she was beautiful. Her hair was different; it's too bad she didn't stay that way. Pray for her family; Diane said one of her kids was really holding it in, and another was bawling. Her daughter is a pro volleyball player. This is quite a blow for them. Her mom lives in Cape Cod, is in real estate and is wealthy; her father's an attorney and lives in Newport Beach, I believe, and is also wealthy. But as Jesus pointed out, the rich have a hard time accepting Him; nevertheless pray for their salvation and grief.

Prayed for her family to have the light of Truth revealed to them in a VERY real way!

This morning C.J. and Diane told me that they saw a news report on T.V. earlier--I didn't get up until 7:30 this morning--that another flu death in Orange County had been reported; even though they didn't say who it was, the description--woman in her mid-40s who waited too long--fit Melantha. They also said they'd run into a friend from next door that told them Melantha's mom will not post an obituary. Well, some people do that.
