Sept Mini-Challenge revisiting old entries

Going through Challenge withdrawal during the breaks between quarters? Then why not suggest a mini-challenge? This is where to post your suggestion when the Challenge is on its break time.

Sept Mini-Challenge revisiting old entries

Postby Sparrow » Fri Sep 28, 2012 5:42 am

Who's up for a challenge break challenge? How about picking an old entry and either rewriting it with the skills you've learned since then, or writing a sequel or companion story to it? Submit your story in your regular article submissions, and then post a link here to both your original challenge story and to your new one.

It's a good idea Amy. I had suggested it earlier in the year as a way to see how we improved. Deb suggested we do it as a mini challenge but I'm an expert at procrastination. So I doubt I'll do it but it's always a good idea.

I liked both stories Lynn :D

Lynn,

Great job with the stories. Enjoyed them both.

Thanks!

I probably got the idea from you then, Shann. I completely forgot I had the idea or even posted this thread!

Lynn, sorry you were lonely but looking forward to reading yours. Off to do that now!

How about some attempts at shortest poems?

Three come to mind right now...

One for a sense of resignation -

"Fleas."
Adam
'ad 'em

for a sense of introspection -

"I,
Why?"

for a sense of the joy of life -

"Me!
Wheeeee!"

On the other hand, somebody may have some seriously useful suggestions.

But, blessings to all,

Noel

Rationalization
Discombobulation

I was looking for a word that rhymes with antidisestablishmentarianism, but apparently the only other twelve syllable word is floccinaucinihilipilification, which means "the act of estimating something as being worth so little as to be practically valueless" (thanks, Wikipedia) which has nothing to do with the former.

Ah, well.
