Throw a Brick for VOTE(D) OFF THE ISLAND

Postby Deb Porter » Sat Jun 07, 2014 3:09 am

Hi Challengeers. The VOTE(D) OFF THE ISLAND Challenge is all wrapped up, and you know what that means . . . it's brick throwing time. Grab your brick and get ready to toss one for your entry.

All you have to do is reply to this post with a direct link to your entry. If you aren't sure how to do that, we have a guide to help you here:

How to Post a Link to Your Entry

If you join in the brick throwing fun, please make sure you read and review the other brick throwers' entries as well. (There's a lot of good reading in there.) Also, please take note on the entries as to whether the author has requested red ink critique or not.

Have fun!

Love, Deb

I just want to join Deb in encouraging everyone who throws a brick to also read and comment on the entries by other brick throwers: that's what makes it work. :coolsign

There are no prizes for guessing who I want to kick off the island and out of my life:

thanks in advance to everyone who makes any type of comment... I appreciate you all. :bow

Blessings, Graham.
May we all get eyes to see and ears to hear,
A Revelation of His Word, crystal clear.
Admitting our need to be drawn in,
Less of self, more of Him.

My prayer for us all.
God bless us with the Revelation of His Word, Graham

This week I've tried to twist a challenge into a chuckle, in level four, with a story that's completely true - except for all the facts - which I've changed profusely in order to increase the interest levels.
http://www.faithwriters.com/wc-article- ... p?id=48669.

Blessings to you all in spite of this,

Noel
God has blessed us with a grownup family of four and three grandchildren, so life is full. My weekly newspaper columns seek to encourage unchurched people to explore God's love, so they may discover the difference he can make for them - and through them.

Ecco! My first entry on level 2.

http://www.faithwriters.com/wc-article- ... p?id=48642

A controversial subject. When I started writing, I didn't know it would end like this. In my mind, I had the MC walk out of the situation, totally disgusted and crying for a little girl never to be born. Maybe it's the point where the real "inspiration" came in...

Thanks for your edifying feedback,

Milly

Okay. I had fun with this one. Maybe a little bit too much fun. :) This was a last minute idea, and much better than my initial idea of a coconut being voted off the coconut tree... Don't even ask where that one would have gone, because I have no idea. I just had this image of a coconut detaching itself from the tree and rolling off the island.

But here's what I came up with instead.

After writing non-fiction for the last few weeks, I had fun writing fiction. All comments welcome, constructive too. Thanks.

Don't be fooled by the childish sounding title, "I Vote for Milk and Cookies". Sometimes we take for granted our freedom from religious persecution. Please give me all the red ink you can throw. I still am having problems with those nagging little miscues. Thanks!
