Throw a Brick for MAKING ENDS MEET

Postby Deb Porter » Sun Jan 26, 2014 11:27 pm

Hi Challengeers.

We have our winners for the MAKING ENDS MEET Challenge, so if you had an entry in for that topic, now is the time to point a few more readers your way (as well as read some other great entries). It's time to "throw a brick" straight to your entry.

All you have to do is reply to this post with a direct link to your entry. :D If you aren't sure how to do that, we have a guide to help you here:

How to Post a Link to Your Entry

If you would appreciate some constructive critique on your entry, please say RED INK WELCOME when you "throw your brick."

If you join in the brick throwing fun, please make sure you read and review the other brick throwers' entries as well. (There's a lot of good reading in there.)

(As always, if you would like a sample rating sheet to use when reading entries, please see this discussion: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=33906 )

Have fun!

Love, Deb

I must stop poetizing! But these topics kinda sorta lead to purty prose. :coolsign

Played with the topic a bit, I think.

Thanks for any and all color comments. I have thick skin!

It's been a while since I've entered the challenge or thrown a brick. It's strange how a change in routine can squelch the creative mechanism. It's time to get back to writing. I missed it so much.

Here's my entry - (This man has inspired me to have more faith.)
One More Mouth to Feed

I'm considering compiling a book of short stories of people that young folks ought to know about. This story will probably be in that book.

I'd welcome any suggestions or critiques.

Your comments on my writing are helping so very much. I know deep inside of me God has so much he wants me to share. I need your help. I still struggle with the mechanics and understanding the perimeters of first person writing. This site has been a heaven sent for me and has given me new purpose in life. Thanks to all!

Experimenting with poetry form on this one. This villanelle was harder than I thought. Red ink welcome.

For all who might want to read and/or comment on my entry, I must share the other part of the story. In my haste to beat the time clock, I left out the most important part.

Not only was the price drastically reduced, but God had saved the last pound for me. How so much like our God is that! :D

Many Blessings,

My take on a slice of biblical history, and an attempt at a little different writing style for me. All color ink and comments are appreciated.
