For the last six months I've been weighing the pros and cons of making a change to the guidelines for choosing the level of submission for Writing Challenge entries. With the introduction of the new levels of membership for FaithWriters at the start of this year, the need for a change to the level of entry guidelines for the Challenge has become even more obvious and important.
This change is to ensure members are not being propelled too fast through the ranks due to lower numbers of entries in their level of submission (as has been happening).
As always, members can still choose to move up into higher levels at any time (except from Level 3 to Level 4). They can make this decision, at any time, based on their experience and growing ability. However, from this week, only 1st place winners in Levels 1 and 2 (or Editor's Choice winners in those levels), must move up to the next Level.
For those members who believe they moved too quickly into Level 3 and are becoming discouraged because they feel out of their depth, please don't hesitate to move back to Level 2 until you either place 1st in that level, achieve an Editor's Choice award, or are confident that your skills have progressed to the Advanced Level (whichever comes first).

I really hope this will take the pressure off some members who have hurtled up the ranks before they feel ready.
Love, Deb
