OVERDUE HELLO AND THANKS

Postby sampson95 » Thu Feb 13, 2014 5:24 pm

Hey Everyone,

It has been a long time since I have logged in- but I have always kept my dear friends in mind. While being underemployed, thanks to the economic non-recovery, I have concentrated on honing my writing and research. I have found a couple of respected venues for my Biblical/Philosophical research and I wanted to share my list of publications with you. It is very special to me, because many of the ideas that generated these articles were ones that I first floated to you guys and your feedback was tremendous :thankssign Some titles you have seen before, but here is my list of publications- so far!

Wow. Seems like you are using your time wisely and I know God is please with the contributions you are making to the body of Christ. Sometimes it seems like God gives us time off, even when we don't understand the whys and wherefores to just do His work. Blessings, Brenda

I know the main point of your post was to express thanks to FaithWriters and to allow us to “rejoice with them that do rejoice,” and I join with others in celebrating with you and offering congratulations.

Both in the past and again today, I have looked at some of your articles, and I have often had questions about them. Today I thought I’d ask questions about the article that I was most interested in. My questions are about “A Biblical Understanding of Personhood Based on Genesis 2:7”

There are some statements in this article that concern me, especially given the stance on biblical inerrancy ascribed to the publisher and to you elsewhere on the site to which you linked. Now, I understand that the doctrine of inerrancy addresses the original manuscripts. Yet I find it a bit too “convenient” to get rid of passages that are problematic for your thesis as “glosses.” Also, I find the reference to “the author(s) of Genesis” to be out of place. Such a phrase would seem more appropriate for a journal that embraces higher criticism.

Am I missing something? Other responses?

Again, congratulations on your publications.
