It might be able to tell you how to get a picture up, as well as lots of other interesting things.
I have a picture, but to be honest, I don't remember how I did it.
I'm sure someone else will be along shortly who will be more helpful than me.

The main FW profile and the Avitar for the boards are too different places. Here you would go to the top of the message board forums and see "Profile" right next to the"You have no new messages" (at least that is what mine always says..)
On there you would have the spot at the bottom to place the link for your avitar. It would need placed on line first at a site like PhotoBucket. Ensure that it is set to avitar size before you upload it or it could get reeeeeeeeealy big.
