Yahoo! Got mine done!

Postby Jan Ross » Sun Jan 07, 2007 12:10 am

It took the better part of my day, but it's done.

I just want to say thanks to FW for making yet another awesome feature available to the 500 members. I am amazed at all the perks for the 500 members.

Does anyone have any idea how often publishers actually log in and review the author's websites? Just curious!

I'm going to add a link from my ministry website, too! Actually, maybe I'll put a place where all the FW contributors to our ezine can link their websites. Thinking out loud here, but I'm just kinda tickled right now!

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

Love ...

It looks great. I want to improve mine and did try to insert some html but it hasn't come out the way I wanted it to so will have to spend some time with it I guess.

Well done!

The html was a bit hard to work with. For instance, I used <br> for line breaks, but it added more space than necessary. I finally realized it had some html built in and read a simple "return" or "enter" as a line break. Once I figured that out, it was much easier. It just took a lot of revision to get it to do what I wanted it to. I also put the entire thing in blockquote so it kept the margins that were in the template.

I used the html and put it in the first "bio" field and left the rest of the fields blank in the form. That gave me the ability to control the section headings, etc.

Oh well ... it's doable. There's more that could be done, but getting the info in there is most important. I'm just kind of a "perfectionist" when it comes to this kind of stuff. I've done all my own websites and enjoy the challenge, but I can't rest until it looks right.

Keep on trying -- you can do it! :D

Thanks Jan - I've done all my own sites as well and realised that the html wasn't working the way I wanted it to. For example I did a page that I wanted in Dreamweaver and then copied and pasted it in but it turned out nothing like what I wanted and didn't recognise the font types, sizes or anything.

I'll take a leaf out of your book and make some changes to mine - will probably have to wait till next weekend now. It's Monday morning here and I'm back to work now!

Cheers,
Kathie M. Thomas
